*The Dark Knight*

Just wondering if anyone else is as pumped as I am about the newest Batman movie coming out the summer of 2008?

Little skeptical about Heath Ledger as The Joker but I want to see the movie. I think "Batman Begins" was the best Batman movie to ever come out of Hollywood and am definately looking forward to seeing the sequel on the big screen.

deezelpope 12-18-2007 10:36 PM

I agree, Wayne! I loved Batman Begins!!

I think Heath Ledger looks absolutely CREEPY as The Joker!

We're planning on going opening night!!

Good Movie

Thank you my friend

Guest190829 12-18-2007 11:32 PM

Wow, I love the poster.

I am excited to see Ledger's performance as the Joker - From the trailer, I couldn't even recognize the Joker as being Ledger and I am very impressed by the acting portrayed in the short bit. His accentuation on some of the dialogue gave me the shivers.

The "Why so serious" tag line, I hope is not overused throughout the film.

I read the title and though of monty python lol.

I thought that poster was freakin' awesome, so I had to include it!!

Yeah, my husband said the same thing about Heath Ledger. I never expected to see him in a role like this in a million years!

Hey, Danny, I was having a blonde moment when I posted this...afterward remembering you had already made a movie thread...I was gonna ask you to merge this with that one. I feel like a total fool.

I agree "Batman Begins" was the best one.

When I saw the trailer during "I am Legend" it blew me away. I love the fact that joker's makeup is not the typical look of the past.

Dean C 12-20-2007 01:39 PM

I'm excited about it, because Ledger and Bale are great actors. But it's just yet another action film which will have some cool stunt scenes and batman will almost die, but then not die right at the end. And of course he'll kill the bad guys! I prefer more intelligent plot-driven films these days.

Afterglow86 12-20-2007 11:13 PM

I'm hoping that the movie is as good as Batman Begins. But I'm a little iffy about Heath Ledger playing a villian.

Batman doesn't kill! Well, not intentionally.

Freesteyelz 12-21-2007 03:42 AM

I liked Michael Keaton as Batman. :)

You don't have to be "Little skeptical about Heath Ledger as The Joker". Take a little look

I think he is the right one :D

Wayne Luke 12-21-2007 04:43 AM

Trailers always look good. Sometimes they contain the best and only good parts of the entire movie. Hard to really judge an overall performance in 60 seconds.

Michael Biddle 12-21-2007 05:27 AM

lol....

The Black Knight was a character in the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. King Arthur and his squire, Patsy, encounter TBK while searching for knights to join his court at Camelot. TBK refuses to let them pass a bridge over what is actually just a little 3 foot ravine which could easily just be jumped across. Arthur and TBK eventually get into a sword fight. The Knight loses an arm and says that it "tis but a scratch". He then loses his other arm and he goes on to say that he's had worse. The Knight then says he'll kick Arthur and through the course of the rest of the fight, Arthur cuts both of his legs off one at a time. The Knight now just a torso and head, standing on the stumps of leg, ridicules Arthur as Arthur leaves screaming "Oh! Running away, eh?!"

It's hilarious! :D

deezelpope 12-21-2007 10:20 AM

Thanks, Dismas! I can assume then that the pic Whitemike posted right above your post is taken from that movie?

Wayne, you're right about trailers...they only show the best parts. But I'm hoping the rest of this movie is as good as the trailer.:)

Michael Biddle 12-22-2007 01:01 AM

You forgot the part where he is going to bite his ankles.

I posted what I thought was enough of the scene to give her an idea of the reference and the humor (humour).

alluidh 12-28-2007 02:26 PM

Funny, but bad quality

*WARNING : Some language content ... oh and chopped off limbs (done terribly tastefully though).

"The Dark Knight" gets my vote for top grosser in North America this year :)

More looking forward to "Cloverfield" myself, but will definitely catch the new Batdude movie.

deezelpope 01-04-2008 11:57 AM

I found another really cool poster!

I am jacked about this new movie! Can't wait!

Wayne Luke 01-22-2008 08:03 PM

Heath Ledger found dead in Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment.. He was 28.

deezelpope 01-22-2008 08:33 PM

I just found out, too...what a shame.:(

Guest210212002 01-22-2008 08:34 PM

Absolutely tragic.

It wasn't Olsen's apartment...

Freesteyelz 01-22-2008 11:22 PM

Bad reporting, Wayne. :D

deezelpope 01-22-2008 11:29 PM

Nahhh, that information was later recanted, not Wayne's fault.:D

Freesteyelz 01-22-2008 11:40 PM

Bah...He could have checked the source. :D

deezelpope 01-22-2008 11:46 PM

I'm sure he did...that article link he posted was updated several times since Wayne's initial posting.;)

Obviously the reporter for the New York times came to work drunk today because he didn't check his own facts until after it was published on the website.

Dean C 01-23-2008 05:22 AM

My god. He was an amazing actor :( You've ruined my day Wayne.

Most likely not and that's the scary thing. Imagine what other events he's posted in error...Or the reporter's just bad on gossip. :)

Guest190829 01-23-2008 01:18 PM

Absolutely tragic, I couldn't believe it when I found out. :(

Freesteyelz 01-23-2008 09:13 PM

I believe an autopsy was slated to begin today.

--------------- Added [DATE]1201133141[/DATE] at [TIME]1201133141[/TIME] ---------------

Authorities have ruled that the rolled up $20 dollar bill found near Ledger did not have drug residue. Toxiology testing still going on...

Dream 01-23-2008 11:23 PM

I just saw the new Batman trailer and I would have never guessed he was the Joker. He seems to be pretty good on that role. It's a shame. That said, I'm excitedly looking forward to the new Batman, the first one was very good.

deezelpope 01-25-2008 11:00 PM

I was reading today that marketing has been thrown into turmoil...
