Anyone recommend a UK Hosting Company Please?
 

My hosting firm is playing up at the moment, and as we are almost using the 100GB limit per month, I thought I would see what is recommended at the moment.

My forum is relatively new, and only just over 200 members, but growing all the time.

I would like the hosting to be fast, with unlimited or generous bandwidth allowance, good control panel, and most importantly good customer support if things go wrong, as I'm fairly new to this :D

Cheap as possible as well.

www.gbservers.co.uk are what I use :) That, however, is for VPS and Dedicated Servers only.

Their parent site, www.dkhosting.co.uk, do resellers and standard web hosting as well as custom packages ;)

there is not that much UK companies around... 90% of the UK hosting companies are resellers for the biggests like ThePlanet.com... this is the same for most of the non .com or .net companies... even vBulletin is hosted directly on ThePlanet... cost less at the end!

and like FRDS said, cheap is never good... cheap is cheap all around. pay for what you use... easy, you can browse google for some hosting names, you go see their plans, and you can evaluate your needs... also, the word "unlimited" is to ban... when bandwidth is unlimited, your server is capped so your visitors can't see your content faster... etc!

How are you going though 100gb of bandwidth a month with only 200 userS?

I too recommend www.eukhost.com. there is a person on the forum here that represents them (I think) and he is always very helpful to users who have questions, on this site, I can imagine how he handles customers.

Unlimited Bandwidth is not at all possible but you can have particular amount of bandwidth. My opinion for you would be to go for a shared hosting package and upgrade as per your requirements.

Wish I'd looked at the other forums besides the addons and templates before now :D
