I hate Celine ---- she's AWFUL!
 

so who thinks "Celine Dion" is a stuck up so-and-so who doesn't apparentely know what "smart aleck" means and deserves to stay in the French Canadian area - sounding all snobish and winey and so in love with her husband "eeeerrrrRene"?

I do! I think the bulk of comedy routines which portray her as a flower-sending LAUGHABLE and all about taking advantage of the Las Vegas circuit only emphasises how much of a money grubbing, flower sending, suckup she is AND she's a pitiful little thing.

I would point you to her profile on vB.org - but let's just hope she doesn't see this thread and doesn't get it shut down like a few of my previous threads :D

On a good note though - I LOVED how she WHINED through that "My heart shall go on" song --- Unfortunately it's a classic now, but then so again is most of Jimmy Hendrix's works.... Oh wait a minute --- He's deceased...

I think Celine Dion is talented - so I respect her for that. I really don't know that much about her though since I never meant her in person.

I think Jacquii needs a nice cup of chocolate and some humble pie :) Calm down my dear, and embrace the godlike talents of Celine.

I happen to think she's an incredible singer, I like most of her music, but if I hear "My Heart Will Go On" one more time, my head will probably explode. That song was overplayed on the radio.

I also admire her for having her sense of joy about life...being overjoyed about her marriage to her husband, and having a child.

oh, and btw.. i hate Celine too... she is not representing the Quebec at all...

I think she's actually one of the most talented vocalists I've ever heard. I also have a lot of respect for her for always remaining pratty classy compared to a lot of the other females stars out there these days.

you are right... she is very talented and classy... that's why she had her place at Las Vegas... not much singers can say they brought the city to a new level.

and actually, the detail about being from qu?bec, a french speaking person etc, is not a reason to say she is crap... the only crap thing about Celine is personal to the people who do not think she represent the province where she is from...

I watched it when it first came out on DvD but can't recall the music from it. Only watched it once though, not my type of movie. Musicin movies is all background and I don't really pay attention to it. I probably watch 300-500 movies a year.

in Titanic, Celine is singing the final song... when you go thru the generic...

The credits? Who watches those? I just look movies up on IMDB if I am interested in the cast and crew.

If I was in the business and needed a good "boom mic operator #3" then I would check them out. Some movies have credits as long as they were these days though.

Actually some of these newer movies (especially kid-friendly ones) have more clips during the credits and even extended scenes after them - just to get you to sit through the credits. Reminds me of the Airplane-type spoof credits (but not-so-slapstick). :)

I can't sit through 1-2 movies a day/night, but we do watch about 2-4 movies a week on our projector. The kids love the xbox 360 hooked up to it because it dwarfs them while playing any game.

I've probably have heard one of her songs in a store or elevator. Just don't pay attention enough to know or care that it is her. I don't listen to radio stations though. Just Napster and CDs on my own play lists.

I personally think Celine is extremely talented singer. She started her career when she was only 16 under the management of Renee and is considered one of the seven Divas.
What I really find interesting about her music is the amount of heart and soul she puts her into her songs and lyrics.
What is there to hate about someone that has the talent and ability Celine has.

If your wondering what I am talking about then listen to the song "FLY" from her cd "Falling into You"
She sings a touching ballard about her niece who died of cancer.

I'm not a fan of Celine's music but I don't hate her.

My wife made me listen to a Celine Dion song last night.. She has a good voice but I can't recall what the song was about today could have been the Titanic song if that is most popular on Napster. I, personally, think that Amy Lee of Evanescance has a better voice and I remember her songs. Another female singer that I would prefer is Joss Stone. Maybe if Celine Dion sang a different genre, then it would be different.

I love Joss Stone's voice, but I can't stand Amy Lee or Evanescance :eek:

I'd also agree that Amy Lee has a better voice than celine Dion. Then I think my dog has a better voice that celine Dion.
