Just watched a good film? Post it here!

I am always interested in using my Netflix account to the fullest - so if you've just seen a really good film, perhaps you can post it here with an IMDB link!

I will do the same.

Edit: And no, I didn't post this in the wrong forum originally. :shifty:

Ok, my suggestion is not for the usual action movies fan...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qatsi_trilogy

the entire Qatsi's collection, AND Baraka... a serie of documentaries -- without a single word said -- ... for the music, for the quality of the images, for the content itself... a real study of the human nature. you want to know how people ARE everywhere on the globe, this is the stuff to look at.

I just watched Fight Club again last night. Awesome movie.

deezelpope 11-30-2007 07:11 PM

At this very moment, I'm watching Ghost Rider.

Adrian Schneider 11-30-2007 09:52 PM

Don't judge me. :o

deezelpope 11-30-2007 10:01 PM

Oooooh, I wanna see that!

My roommate and I did a Hannibal Lecter movie marathon earlier this week.

davidw 11-30-2007 10:01 PM

Took our kids to see Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium - not bad - kids enjoyed it.

Citizen X. Probably the best serial killer movies to hit the screen. IMDB

I second that as well!:up::up:

Oooh, Shazz...American Gangster was good? I wanna see it.

Dean C 12-01-2007 08:43 AM

American Gangster is amazing :) One of the few films I've seen in a while that really made me go wow. 8 10 to yuma was good too, along with Ratatouille :)

SbyD_Salient 12-02-2007 03:11 AM

Phew finally able to post :) Thanks to whoever worked out my account.

Three movies for ya from Downunder.

"Black Sheep" - horror/comedy, if you liked either "Evil Aliens" or "Slither" you'll love this one.

"Rogue" - Giant Croc on the rampage, might be worth while waiting on the DVD Director's cut.

"Gabriel" - sort of "The Crow" meets "Constantine" and then sits down for tea with "Underworld".

lasto 12-02-2007 06:00 AM

rise of the foot soldier 2007 - excellant movie and full of voilence from start to end :)

Paul M 12-02-2007 11:41 AM

I've been avoiding watching that one because I know I'm getting it for Christmas this year. ><

Menace II Society - One of my all time favs, I only have it on VHS though. :(

The forgotten - Watched this one the other night. Starts off kinda boring but it picks up about 30 minutes in.

The Stoned Age - Finally got to watch this one. I give it a C+, Okay, Not great. ;)

Guest190829 12-03-2007 05:42 AM

Hehe, I ordered V for Vendetta on Netflix, but the package had the wrong DVD. Instead "The Year Of The Dog" was sent - it was unexpectedly funny as we see a normal lady transform into a psychotic animal rights activist after her dog Pencil dies.

I wouldn't rent it though - only watch if it netflix sends it to you by mistake.

Oh, also there is supposed to be a heartfelt message at the end, but it just didn't click for me.

Dean C 12-03-2007 07:53 AM

V for vendetta is great! I'm rather fond of Mrs. Portman to say the least :D

deezelpope 12-03-2007 09:23 AM

Yeah, that's happened to me once with NetFlix. If you report it to them, they'll send you a new one.

I totally agree with Dean...V For Vendetta was awesome!:up:

Mrs. Portman? Do you know something the rest of her [S]stalkers[/S], er, I mean, fans don't?

Most recent thing I saw was Harold & Maude. I'd seen it before but wanted to see it again. It's funny in a dark and odd sort of way.

I have five movies set up for watching this weekend (plus if anything new pops up on Pay-Per-View)....

Fracture, 1408, The Reaping, Vacancy, and What the Bleep do we know.

I'll let you know how they are if I get through them all.

Recently saw "Knocked Up (unrated version)". It wasn't to bad. I like Katherine Hegl in Roswell and she does moderately well in Grey's Anatomy so thought to check this out.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478311/

Fantastic Four was okay... good action but very short. They do a lot better work on the Spiderman series. My kids also watched Santa Claus 3 and enjoyed it a lot. I was busy so only caught pieces here and there.

Dream 12-04-2007 03:56 PM

1408 was soso

Weapon-x 12-04-2007 07:53 PM

Surf's Up Good film from Sony Pictures Animation

"The Reaping" is simply woeful :(

deezelpope 12-05-2007 07:24 AM

My roommate had never seen The Shawshank Redemption before, which is my favorite movie of all-time, so I had her watch it with me.:up:

Michael Biddle 12-05-2007 02:59 PM

Just bought super bad. Going to watch it tonight probably.

Brad 12-05-2007 05:21 PM

If you like watching movies just because they're god-awful this one is right up your alley.

Quote:

An apocalyptic earthquake leaves the California coastline in ruins and reduces the beaches to a state of chaos. A group of Neo-Nazis led by Adolf (Brenner), the self-proclaimed "F?hrer of the new beach," take advantage of the resulting chaos by fighting off several rival surfer gangs to seize control of the beaches. Meanwhile, an African American oil well worker named Leroy (Harden) is killed by the Nazis while jogging on the beach. Leroy's mother "Mama" Washington (Neely), devastated by the loss of her son, vows revenge. After arming herself with a handgun and grenades, she breaks out of her retirement home and sets out to exact bloody vengeance on the Surf Nazis.

just watched beowulf. it was soso, 5.5/10 to it.

Guest190829 12-06-2007 09:54 PM

I justed watch Meet the Robinson's, because a friend recommended it to me. It's an animated flick - and it was pretty good. The concept was nice, especially for coders: "Keep moving forward!"

hehe, I gave it a 7/10

Guest190829 12-08-2007 09:09 AM

I just saw:

Munich, Capote, and Sleepers this week,

All were excellent films, especially Munich.

Dream 12-09-2007 10:58 PM

I watched... shoot em' up. It was the worst film I watched in some time. I almost left the session, and I never do that. I was lured by the cast.

Sean S 12-10-2007 02:02 AM

I watched the movie "Awake" last week, eventhough I usually don't watch this type of drama movie, I was surprised by how much I liked it.

Yeah it was awful. There was only one highlight of that movie ;););)

Wayne Luke 12-10-2007 02:03 PM

Fracture was pretty good.. Main character was played by Anthony Hopkins in that cold calculating style he has adopted since Silence of the Lambs. Should check it out.

Dream 12-10-2007 11:07 PM

Fracture was VERY nice. I particularly liked Ryan Gosling acting, which was the lawyer. I'd give it a 8/10.
