More info on thread ratings

1 Attachment(s)
I suggested this over at vb.com but it could take some time before (if) they implement it :P

Would be nice on this site to show more info on the thread ratings when you click on the thread rate, as shown in the attachment.

The screenshot was taken from amazon, where I got the idea.

it is more like a rate/poll system, this is simply an image edition actually... this would be possible as now the ratings are stored individually... very simple to create...

Amazon and Cnet have fantastic yet simple-looking rating systems. I like that fact that it breaks down the ratings (just like vB's poll), it shows the overall rating at the top (already a vB feature) and the individual rating displays next to his/her post (not a current vB feature). For me, that will be the ideal rating system.

I made the hack if you wanna use it on vb.org

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=164793

It uses a popup window, I wasn't able to do a dhtml popup.

Any word on this? I would love to see the ratings info of my mods :)

My mod code is very simple, there's not much to go wrong.

Updating to 3.7 is our highest priority right now. Personally, I think the vote count and average is adequate enough.

Dream 12-15-2007 02:13 PM

Seeing the percentages of votes would show if the mod ratings are being used by the crowd in a good manner.

This would take 20 minutes max to implement.

Paul M 12-15-2007 02:24 PM

It doesn't really matter if it would take 5 minutes - as I've said elsewhere, there will be no more changes until we have moved to 3.7.

Dream 12-15-2007 02:27 PM

Ok, will this be considered or should I ask again after the 3.7 update?

Paul M 12-15-2007 02:31 PM

All suggestions are considered. That's all I can tell you atm.

Dream 12-15-2007 02:33 PM

Ok thanks. I'll ask again after 3.7 if you guys reached a decision, if I remember about this.
