Random question for the day: Desserts
I haven't posted an extremely random question in a while so here we go:
What is your favorite dessert? I'm a sucker for a good creamy cheesecake. Better Homes and Gardens has a recipe from many years ago that is a vanilla bean cheesecake, and it is THE BEST homemade cheesecake ever. Another one of my favs is this turtle cheesecake from a brewery I used to go to in Jacksonville called Southend Brewery. Its an upscale brewery with really fantastic food, and their cheesecake has a pecan and chocolate crust on bottom, then pecans, caramel and chocolate on top. Ohhhhh it is soooo yummy |
Cookies.. Any kind as long as they are "home-made" really but my all-time favorites are Snickerdoodles and Sutter's Home (Peanut Butter w/ chunks of chocolate). I don't eat any mass-marketed cookies except for the Pepperidge Farm brand but will on occasion buy cookies from the bakery. After that pretty much any kind of pie with Pecan, Pumpkin and Apple at the top of the list.
I love chocolate but cannot stand the taste of chocolate cake, ice cream or pudding and only eat chunk chocolate in cookies. Yeah, I know its weird but just how I am. I have an ex-girlfriend who didn't know this and she gave me a surprise birthday party (another thing I hate) with a chocolate cake. |

I also only eat cookies that are homemade. I LOVE cookies but I usually only eat them right after they come out of the oven, when they're still warm and gooey :p I just did make snickerdoodles for the first time a few weeks ago and they were very yummy! |
I'm also one that can't stand something "too sweet". When I was a kid I could eat that stuff all day...now I'm lucky if I can finish an entire candy bar. :)
Cheese cake and pumpkin pie are at the top of my list. :) |
Soft Ice Cream, like you get in McDonalds Flurries.
|
Belgian Waffles. Served in Wetherspoons pubs. Waffle, vanila ice cream, bananas, caramel sauce. Lubbly.
|
Mmm...Pecan pie and cheesecake (just because they were mentioned). Yet, if I have to pick just one for years it has been peanut M&M's FTW.

Funny question, as I just added a Palettes of Flavour sub-forum on JPiC: http://jpicforum.info/palettes-flavour/ --- One of my favorites from Easy to Bake Easy to Make recipe cards is the Cranberry Peach Cobbler - it's a fabulous dish - a very rich dish actually and the recipe is on JPiC :D

Home-made pumpkin pie from scratch (none of this pie-in-a-can junk). Every year I carve to pieces (cut up) 2-4 pumpkins. A couple hours labor but worth the effort :)
|
Banoffee pie. Oh yes :D

I'll have to see if my wife will give that up :)

Next season, I'll be planting pie pumpkins in the yard for this purpose. |

It's actually posted on my site under recipes - here (modified so anyone can use it). I put the link because there are more recipes in that thread.

I think I'll share the recipe on JPiC as well - it looks really good - I like the idea of streusel topping - Inventive. JAcquii. |
The exact reason why I said

No one is forced to use the real stuff - or if it isn't available, 2 cans should be the equivalent (I personally hate the canned stuff - nasty). |
Apple Pie.

Sweet Pancakes (like you Americans eat for breakfast) + Syrup :D
Banoffee, Apple or Pecan Pie :D Any cheesecake Any iced cake as long as there isn't too much marzipan (non-marzipan cakes are better :D) I can't eat too many sweet things, I'm more of a savoury person but I do like the odd bar of cadbury's now and then :) Chris |

1.) Go to local restaurant
2.) Order whatever 3.) Eat 4.) Run away and don't pay :D I don't know how to cook them, never really bothered to learn but I suppose I could give it a try one day when I'm feeling dangerous :D Chris |
ROFL - but isn't that mini-recipe you share called the dine and dash buffalo wings?!?!? Muuuuaahahahaaaaaaaaa! https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/
