Coffee Consumption

Do you run on coffee, need it to function? :D Just every so often, when the mood strikes? Never?

I didn't used to be a big coffee drinker but I've steadily increased my consumption over the last couple of years. I average about 2 or 3 cups a day, most days. Two cups in the morning before breakfast, then another small glass of iced coffee after dinner (it helps my sweets craving in the evening).

Dream 11-02-2007 03:29 PM

I'm on four cups today, pulled an allnighter.

Wayne Luke 11-02-2007 03:30 PM

Brew a fresh pot every morning. Some days I drink it all, others not. Just depends. So I drink between 2 and 5 cups a day with each cup being 14 ounces.

Grew up around coffee. My father was in Law Enforcement and would drink 2 or 3 pots of coffee a day while growing up. My grandmother is 92 this year and I have never seen her drink anything beside coffee.

deezelpope 11-02-2007 03:42 PM

Heavens YES! LOVE my coffee!!https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/11/50.gif

Analogpoint 11-02-2007 03:54 PM

I'll have 2-3 cups a week.

Adrian Schneider 11-02-2007 04:02 PM

I usually have a cup or two a day in the morning if I get up early enough, or at night if I'm working.

Feckie (Roger) 11-02-2007 04:06 PM

Hmm I normally have about 7 - 10 mugs per day

BrandiDup 11-02-2007 04:12 PM

To put a spin on the original question, what type of coffee do you enjoy? Do you like a good flavored coffee such as hazelnut or french vanilla? Or do you prefer a regular medium or bold regular coffee?

I've tried a few different flavors and I just can't get into them. They give me heartburn and a stomach ache. So, I stick to my regular columbian Starbucks or orginal dunkin donuts.

Guest190829 11-02-2007 04:24 PM

I drink coffee, a lot of coffee. I find myself not being able to focus without my fix of caffiene, which I know is not good, but hey!

As for flavors, I wrote a blog entry over at vBulletin.com regarding that:

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/blog.php?b=17

(Although I normally just have regular coffee, with creme, and two sugars.)

[high]* Guest190829 likes it light and sweet.[/high]

Shelley_c 11-02-2007 04:24 PM

I drink 1 cup of coffee a day which is in the morning. The brand I drink is gold blend except every jar of gold blend I buy don't have gold nuggets flowing from the jar (as seen in the commercial). I feel like i'm being conned somehow.

deezelpope 11-02-2007 04:26 PM

HA! I love your originality, BrandiPup!

Folgers Special Roast with flavored creamer...International Delight or CoffeeMate in Hazelnut or French Vanilla. Although my all-time favorite is Starbucks' White Chocolate Mocha, it's a bit pricey for every-day consumption...I prefer it as a treat!:D

Ohh the white chocolate mochaaaaaaa...great for wintertime.

Also the Caramel Macchioto (sp?)

But, yes, Starbucks is pretty pricey.

Paul M 11-02-2007 04:28 PM

Very rare that I drink Coffee, but I have Tea several times a day when I'm at work.

I drink a lot more of something else (follow the clues ...... ;))

I noticed you're a fellow hazelnut lover? Mmmmm!!!:D

Yeah, it is! Over $4.00 for a Venti.

I only drink Fair Trade/Organic coffee. I usually buy my coffee at either Trader Joe's or buy Java Trading Company coffee at different supermarkets. It is usually a "Breakfast Blend". Sometimes I'll try flavored blends but usually I just add cream to it. We do have some coffee flavors in the house that guests can add if they want. If I make myself an iced coffee, it is either vanilla or raspberry flavored.

Going to try some coffees from Green Mountain Coffee and Kicking Horse Coffee this month though.

I don't visit Starbucks but I like the "Coffee Bean & Leaf Leaf" and there is a nice cafe about 5 blocks from my door that I visit occasionally. The cafe only charges $1.00 for my 16 ounce coffee, but I always take my own travel mug. They also have the best cinnamon rolls in the city.

Brad 11-02-2007 10:20 PM

I always have a cup or two in the morning to go with my cigarette. ;)

I drink Maxwell House, with who knows how much sugar added (I just add a bunch til it tastes right ;)) and a little milk...just enough to turn the color.

I mostly drink it with breakfast and usually have a big glass of cold sweet tea to go with it. When I have to go without my coffee I just drink a lot of Mountain Dew in the morning. ;)

davidw 11-02-2007 11:29 PM

I drink home-brewed tea (2-3 12oz cups a day) and then coffee about 2-3 times a week, but I have to have some sort of flavoring (blueberry preferably). :)

Chris M 11-03-2007 01:15 AM

I'm addicted to caffeine :D

Chris

davidw 11-03-2007 02:14 AM

mmmmmm, caffeine (I'll take some please :) - where's Danny?)

Marco van Herwaarden 11-03-2007 05:54 AM

I need at least 2 large (vBulletin ;)) mugs in the morning or i can't get started.

davidw 11-03-2007 12:33 PM

Those are nice mugs. Where can I get one? hehe

deezelpope 11-03-2007 12:35 PM

I was wondering the same thing, David. Is there somewhere we can buy them or are they reserved solely for vBulletin staff members?

davidw 11-03-2007 01:57 PM

<a href="http://www.cafepress.com/vbulletinshop/343524" target="_blank">http://www.cafepress.com/vbulletinshop/343524</a>
That's the best I could find (no blue with white lettering though).

I have one (picture)

JFYI - they were giving them away at a show in London (in May).

BrandiDup 11-03-2007 02:27 PM

ahahaha, this is too funny... too bad my husband doesn't know enough about vB to appreciate it. LMAO http://www.cafepress.com/vbulletinshop.12700361

deezelpope 11-03-2007 02:30 PM

Both are very cool-looking! And the big 15 oz. one is priced pretty reasonably. I just made myself a customized BGJC one at zazzle.com for close to $17.00! I did check out CafePress, I couldn't get one with a pink interior, so the extra few $ was worth it.:D

Funny you post that as I was just reading the thread on .com regarding the show :P (majority of 15 pages).

I think I am slightly addicted to coffee. Brew 12 cup pot in the morning, put in carafe. By supper time its gone so brew another pot. Tim Hortons original blend is my brand.

The person who posted just before you was a spambot so I zapped them and the post ;).

To stay on topic though despite this thread being quite old (lol) I would say I'm at DANGEROUS coffee consumption levels!!!! I typically drink 10-12 actual cups a day which is not one single 12cup pot more like 6, six cup pots. I don't like it weak either, most prefer 3scoops = 10/12cups in the pot I prefer 3 to 4 scoops on just 6 cups of water - helps to grow hair on your lip! LOLOL! Good ole' fashioned Folgers Classic here.

As you may have now surmised, I'm on coffee now :erm: .

Dave 05-14-2016 12:47 PM

I rarely drink it. I don't really consider frappuccino's and mocha's at Starbucks as coffee.

Paul M 05-14-2016 01:52 PM

Wow, this one popped up from the grave.

Back in 2007, when I voted, I chose "Rarely", these days it would be more like "Often".

(Which doesnt seem to be have been an option back then ...)

greigeh 05-14-2016 03:42 PM

No idea how people can be so reliant on a drink to start their day. My flatmate has one every single morning and on top of that another 3/4 during the day when he's working which is crazy to me.

Almost like an addiction! I do not drink coffee or tea. They're gross.

Between all the Coffee and Dr. Pepper we drink, I don't foresee us being in top health thirty years down the road :( but for now it keeps us moving ;).

I don't know what that feels like... err wait the constant need for coffee... nevermind pretty sure I'm addicted! Off to brew a pot now then work, will be working going "ewwww" then take a sip and go "ahhhh" and that is why your flatmate drinks it, the enjoyment we get from a nice hot cup might compare to that smoke break relief many people tend to take with their cigarettes but that's just me being silly guessing, non-smoker here. My wife can do the iced coffee's but to me that is GROSS!

There is no option for "There are other things to drink?"
