vBulletin Election Booth

Credit for the original hack goes to trafix.

The original hack can be located here:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=74183

Since the original coder could not be located I updated this hack to work with vb 3.6.8 and added several enhancements along the way.

What it does?
This hack basically allows you to hold elections on you board. You can open as many elections as you wish each with their own set of parameters. Some of the more important features are listed below.
  1. End Date
  2. Number of candidates
  3. Usergroups who can vote
  4. Number of candidates users can vote for
  5. Usergroups who can view leaderboard
  6. Usergroups who can see who voted

Support
I welcome your suggestions and will do what I can when I can to solve any issues.

Enloy :)

Looks neat, if I understand it correctly. :D

Not to say it isn't neat anyway. Even if I don't understand correctly.

Also, on the template that shows the results, I am showing in IE that there are errors on the page on lines 945 & 978 for an unterminated string...

Can you check that??

Ski-Whiz 10-14-2007 11:24 PM

What "varname" and "Log Phrase" do we give the scheduled task?

I also have a Database Error...

I get this error too when I click "nominate", I also don't understand why "nominate" is visible if there's no active polls.

slyreptile 10-15-2007 03:21 PM

Tagging this for further consideration! Sounds like a great hack.

CBTS Pennywise1 10-15-2007 07:13 PM

Same here Database error when I click Nominate now.

vBsquad 10-15-2007 07:37 PM

Not sure why I'm not getting my email notifications, but I'm working on the db issue now.

Doctor Death 10-15-2007 09:13 PM

When nominations are filled, you still have to click on name to get to vote?

I have an active poll right now and it is stuck on four votes without a way to move the voting forward.

Think that this hack needs a little unhacking.

Author: Can you give us some assist?

CBTS Pennywise1 10-15-2007 10:27 PM

Sweet thanks a bunch.

Send me a PM if you want a logon to my board which has this installed. Might be good for you to see what it is/is not doing in an operational environment.

Among other things, there are HTML/PHP errors in the voting page which have precluded anyone from voting.

I would really like to get this working properly.

How about users been able to submit new voting booth's for approval ?

Please note that copyright does not expire simply because an author has not visited the site for an extended period of time - and indeed, the original modification has licence details that clearly prohibit it to be copied. I have compared the two, and large portions have been copied across.

Therefore we have no choice but to move this to the Graveyard for now, as you do not appear to have permission to copy the original code.

JFYI, I have tried to contact Trafix to seek his permission for you, but unless it is given, then this will have to remain withdrawn.
