RichieScott1 09-18-2007 10:08 PM

Your side column is too thick. It makes the rest of the board look awkward.

imk 09-18-2007 10:33 PM

hm i can make the top of the coulum smaller but the bottom doesnt follow any help anyone?

.tcat2 {
background: url(aero/misc/tcat2.gif) top left no-repeat;
width: 190px;
height: 27px;
line-height: 27px;
color: white;
font-size: 11px;
padding: 4px 0px 0px 27px;
font-weight: bold;
border-bottom: 3px #d9d9d9 solid;
}

.ct {
padding: 8px 27px 15px 24px;
color: #666666;
font-size: 11px;

}

looks kinda out off shape :S header is way huge... and looks seperate from the rest off the forums.

Xtrato 09-20-2007 02:31 AM

if its a new site, you need to make it more inviting... right know you are distracting people with other things, the header is hmm not so clear, to the point... its very confusing i would say.

imk 09-20-2007 02:04 PM

what would you do?

Xtrato 09-20-2007 04:20 PM

Get rid of the huge header, make it more inviting , hmm lets say, simple navigation , you can actually incorporate those "registration" steps within your header.

If its a music forum , get some music icons , and post icons etc , to get a good music theme.

Smiry Kin's 09-21-2007 12:19 AM

The header is abit to big, imo it should be embeded into the design, so its made smaller, the images below e.g register etc.. could be added into the image, if done correctly...

if you need more help just ask.. :)

SEOvB 09-21-2007 01:03 AM

needs to be fluid imo

the 200px wide forums really really really aren't cool!

PoetJA-1975 09-21-2007 02:38 AM

I actually like it - I'd go with a wider fluid version for the skin though - and touch up the header or drop it all together - then have a simple logo spanning the left top of the header.

Anyway - Latest Tracks - what player you use for that?

Thanx,

Jacquii.

Smiry Kin's 09-21-2007 03:05 AM

also move the 5 top stats to the footer -.-

he uses wimpy.

Brandon Sheley 09-21-2007 04:13 AM

I'd make the forum wider and trash everything you have above the forum. It doesn't match up very well with the button tabs then the 3 square banners ? smooth and square.

imk 09-21-2007 02:53 PM

thanks more feed needed.

oh and

www.wimpyplayer.com

PoetJA-1975 09-21-2007 11:55 PM

No prob - thanx for the link
But if I were you - I'd really consider what everyone's saying about the width of your forum... Just curious - what is your screen resolution?

Jacquii.

Smiry Kin's 09-22-2007 12:18 AM

-.- well even on a fluid screen, forums fit a 800x600, when they resize.. depends on the lenth of the catagorys.

imk 09-22-2007 11:41 AM

i really like the smaller forums....however do u think i should interigate the wimpy playe witht he logo in the header?

no thats a big mistake most forums make...

simple make it a link in your navbar, and make it pop up..

i see it all the time. you go on a site - it has mp3 player, it plays, you look through the forum, and every time you change page, it stops the track.. so imo make it a lil popup.. isnt hard.

regards

Roxie 09-22-2007 07:50 PM

Definitely agree about the popup player. I had a friend that created a flash header with music!! UGH! He reloaded with every page. Not. Cool.

imk 09-23-2007 10:02 AM

ok i'll take that into account also....any more suggestions?

imk 10-05-2007 09:52 PM

Shazz 10-05-2007 09:56 PM

It seems it was changed slightly then your last thread review :|

Looks nice :)

Xtrato 10-06-2007 06:36 AM

ok , well not to be rude or anything , just to help you out.

The header is , VERY big , i mean huge, i think you can do better than that, much better.

The forums themselves look a bit better, though that background image you have makes it hard to read. on some parts.

Keep working on the header, it can greatly be improved .

imk 10-06-2007 01:28 PM

explain tho you say it can but i need examples.

Xtrato 10-06-2007 06:53 PM

ok well , here my latest work on one of my clients :

http://www.justpressplay.net/forum/

maybe you can get some idea on that :D .

Regards

imk 10-06-2007 09:45 PM

thanks...but i really prefer mine.

Xtrato 10-06-2007 10:04 PM

well , here how i see it.

As a user , i find it very annoying to have to scroll down so much to find the first readings, or post , content etc , i dont mean the design , i mean the concept of having a smaller, more organized header and such , you dont have to go exactly the same , im not in anyway trying to put you down or your site, its just that i think there is a lot more potential to your site , you cant afford not to invest , or create a good presentation of what it really means and is .

Go look around other music sites, or forums, see how they are arranged , look etc, also look at good successful big sites, and how their forums , header etc lay up.

imk 10-06-2007 11:01 PM

ok thanks.

3dsoft 10-07-2007 11:44 AM

For me there is too much distraction colorwise.

not yet 100% complete but so happy with it.

Merged all review threads about this forum, please only open 1 thread per board.

Mickie D 10-30-2007 08:34 AM

i like the site but for me they should put some audio of these battles so you can listen

i never joined because all i can see is people talking about a battle with no clips of what these people are about

if you hear them you might think i can take this person (if you are into that thing) otherwise its very trickie to navigate

im not sure if i like the member info below the sig but im sure i could get used to it but i found i was looking at the wrong peoples stats because i was not sure where people started again maybe that is me being pickie because i was not used to that

other than that its a nice style very nice and allot of hard work put in that ;)

but i would suggest in my opinion giving members a sneak preview of these mic battles maybe where the top stats is on the main page i am sure that would get people even more active, something like a 20 second snipet if you dont want to get people downloading unless they join ?

Regards
Mickie D
