Easy Action! (supported version)

ForumMonkeys recently acquired vBmode, who offered this free vBulletin skin to the public. As the new owner of vBmode, I'd like to continue doing so. Why the new thread then? I was told by an admin here that I cannot take ownership of that thread, so this is my only option. The original thread is located here:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=129204

This is a free vBulletin skin product from VBMode.com and BulletinSkins.com. The "vBulletin skin by..." link may not be removed - branding free licenses can be obtained at: BulletinSkins.com . This skin may not be redistributed without explicit, written permission.

Without further ado, I bring you Easy Action!

Demo:
Fixed Version
Fluid Version

ZIP contains:
  • Image set
  • Skin PSD
  • XML style files (Includes both fixed and fluid versions) (3.6.8)
  • LICENSE_and_instructions-VBM.txt with easy installation

Please click the install button if you use this style.

Thank you and enjoy!

Note: the former thread is *not* supported and the ZIP will *not* be updated. This is the new "official", supported thread.

VERSION 1.01: Oct 13 2007: Updated to use relative paths. Fluid/Fixed XML swap corrected.
VERSION 1.02: Apr 17 2008: Updated for vB 3.6.9
VERSION 1.03: Apr 28 2008: Updated for vB 3.6.10

valdet 09-19-2007 08:17 AM

Thanks for release, but the images are not inside the zip. The upload folder contains the source PSD file.

ForumMonkeys 09-20-2007 04:30 PM

Forehead smack. Updating in a moment.

redslush 09-20-2007 06:14 PM

I'm testing it out. But it looks like a lot of the images paths in the css point to the vbmod website instead of the local server. My test server is not on the net and a lot of the images did not show up. This is how I noticed the problem.

Rickeo 09-20-2007 10:14 PM

Could you possibly tell me how to add google ads below forum stats box :)

Smiry Kin's 09-21-2007 02:35 AM

Must say one off the most best free styles around. Shame i like my forums style to much, other wise i would use this option defo.

just find the end off the code in forumhome.

jlp09550 09-22-2007 12:39 AM

Anyway you would provide the font to download?
Everything for this font is paid, and I'm not spending my money just to download a font to edit a logo.. otherwise I could just substitute the font. :P

Andyucs 09-22-2007 04:27 PM

Why are the images pointing to your site and also in css

not very good impression is it for a skin designer

i thank you for the free skin and will take time to visit your site

but this will be uninstalled from my forums now due to link back on images and css

i will leave marked as installed incase you correct this

Booth 09-23-2007 04:36 PM

Is there any way to get the latest 10 posts in the side column?

Booth 09-23-2007 10:14 PM

Argh! It doesn't work with blogs :(

Where do I go to change the url please ?

Smiry Kin's 09-24-2007 05:53 PM

AndyA 09-24-2007 06:18 PM

AndyA 09-24-2007 07:02 PM

Found it, thanks.

msvi007 09-27-2007 07:58 AM

Can you tell me how I can move the log in box from the side to the top of the forum? Thanks.

wrestlesomnia 09-29-2007 03:56 AM

I have been searching for days, for a skin EXACTLY like this, kudos my friend.

msvi007 10-02-2007 08:16 AM

This is being corrected. See below.

I agree 100%. As the new owner of vBmode, I did not code this skin and I did not notice that it was coded with absolute paths back to vBmode, which is, to be blunt, ridiculous. I will be updating the archive soon. I am pretty sure I got all the absolute paths changed to relative paths.

The font used I believe comes with certain Adobe products. You can substitute it for many fonts. As suggested, Arial is a close cousin.

If you can't get vBulletin's external.php functionality working for this, there's a couple of plugins here that will do the trick.

I just noticed this too. Lots of hooks are missing. What really needs to be done is to scour the templates for these missing hooks and manually add them. Unfortunately, I can't find the time just yet, but it will be on the list.

fluid version says fixed?

energetic 10-04-2007 03:08 AM

Thanks for sharing :)

ginoledesma 10-05-2007 12:00 AM

The fluid version seems to be "fixed".

edgecutioner 10-05-2007 06:34 AM

hey I'm having a problem with tcat.gif

i want to change the color of it so i have done a tcat from scratch by using Photoshop, then I uploaded it. my style wars are ok. my only problem is, tcat.gif is pointed from vbmode demo forum :(

powerspike 10-07-2007 07:34 AM

Hi in the archive, the Fixed and Fluid files are the same, the fluid version is showing fixed when imported, and the style is also fixed.

Edit : worked it out, under style vars, Main Table Width was set to 750, just change that to 90% or 95% and it'll fix it.

You are using an older version. The old version had absolute paths for some reason, which were changed back to relative image paths.

Moncal 10-18-2007 01:45 AM

I am really liking this style.

One question though. Do you require that the vbmode banner remain at the top or only the footer link?

vistaku 10-20-2007 10:13 PM

Anyone tell me where is the icon forum is LOCK i didnt see it

Thanks

parash 12-26-2007 05:11 AM

Absolutely not. That banner is there just for example. You can use your own banners or remove the banners completely. The only thing that needs to stay is the tiny lack back vBmode in the footer.

Lombardo 01-07-2008 04:46 PM

Infact it doesnt matter.

PKGDubber 01-12-2008 06:50 PM

two questions i am hoping you can help me with:

1. I thought this would be easy enough but turns out i was wrong! Where would I be able to change the catagory strip height?

2. I put in some different catagory icons and it through off the alignment, is there something I can do to fix?

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/01/33.jpg

thanks! :up:

obmob 01-25-2008 01:56 AM

:( the postbit isn't the same as shown in the tests

Any chance to get that postbit template? :D

thanks for the nice and clean style!

2. adjust the size in forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost

Code:

<if condition="$childforumbits">
<tbody id="collapseobj_forumbit_$forumid" style="{$collapseobj_forumid}">
        <tr align="center">
          <td class="thead" width="55"></td>
          <td class="thead" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="30%">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="50">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="50">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
          <if condition="$vboptions[showmoderatorcolumn]">
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
          </if>
        </tr>
$childforumbits
</if>

The demo is using the Legacy Postbit. You can set this in Vbulletin Options under Style and Language Settings.

The published version is accurate. To answer a torrent of PMs (maybe you were asking the same question), this style will not updated to 3.7 until it goes Gold. It will probably take me a week or two to do so.:)

jpapadpapa 02-24-2008 04:48 PM

I am a bit of a newbie to changing styles. Can anyone tell me how to go about changing the color scheme from red? I was able to change the category strips (though they still have thin red borders on the top and bottom), but I cannot figure out how to change the main menu bar and the headers on the left.:confused:

montsa007 02-28-2008 02:57 AM

Pardon my dullness, but is this a joke? Or do you really have a website where you explain how to go about this? I think you're joking around...

At any rate, I found where all the code is and I think I can figure it out, as I am familiar enough with coding to do little things like this.

Another question, though...

Did this get updated to work with blogs? I don't have that feature currently, but we plan to add it in the near future and I want to know it will have that functionality before I get stuck on this design. Otherwise, I will choose something else.

It will work with blogs, but you may need to manually add the links and such.

Okay. I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about, since I haven't looked into blogs much yet, but hopefully it won't be too difficult/time-consuming?
