Hi,

This is just for fun. If you don't think it's funny or interesting, please ignore the rest of the page :)

What's the purpose?

-Scaring the forum members & visitors with a loud and frightening sound! :eek:

How it works?

-The scary sound will be played automatically whenever they refresh their pages or click a forum link.

Create a new template called "scary":

- AdminCP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Template Options > Add new template:

Save the template.

Whenever you want to enable "the scary sound" for a while open this template and copy one of the audio sections to the top of your header template.

Remove the code from the top of the header template when your ego is feeded enough.

Currently there are three flash-sound files included and you are free to call them from my domain or you can upload them to your own server. Don't forget to update the swf urls with your own domain's.

Well, if you are interested adding your custom audio files, just give the url of the file here and i can convert it to a little swf for you.

Of course you can nominate this mini-super automatic modification for the worst and the most unnecessary hack of all times! :D

Currently there is no demo available as i don't want to lose my all members enabling these annoying sounds all the day :rolleyes: Try yourself!

isnt this just like embed html though? and you can put that in your header of your skin lol because that plays over and over aswell... this hack is a long way about it!?

This is nothing very special but playing an odd audio effect to shock people.

I tried it on 2000+ online guests & visitors (with different audio effects, moanings, speeches) and the result was very satisfying for my pathetic soul :D

OK, can you create a version that is off the hook for permissions so that if a member is BANNED per their usergroup that they see a page like the following:

Now, that I would install!

I made one with a speech to text program. But it just hangs saying (1 item remaining) in IE, everything works fine its just a bit annoying.

It says in a spooky voice "Get out of the arcade and make some posts"

any ideas what could be causing it not to load up properly?

Does this mod simply play a scary sound or is it a whole new theme?

What I am looking for is something for a Halloween prank on my members that will automatically play a scary sound like screaming, ghosts wailing or creaky doors everytime they click on a thread. I want it to fit with my current theme though.

Maybe what I need is similar to the Youtube embed but works with audio files and can be set up to autoplay?
