Admin CP Authentication mod : to secure your CP

====
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
====
I am proud to announce the Authentication mod version 1.00 .
This mod allows you to add firewall like the one to login in to the vBulletin.com's members area, you choose the user name and the password in your forums settings after you enter the Admin CP, see the screenshots for more information .
This mod will be developed by the time to add more features .
Change log:
1.00 : First release.
1.01 : some bug fixes.
Note1:This mod works only if PHP is installed as module it will never work on PHP installed as CGI.
Note2:if you forget the password or the User or have a problem just add the following to the config.php :
PHP Code:

define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

then delete it after you have changed the pass or upgraded to the last version.

Another problem :( I'm really sorry I assure you this is the last one. you can either download the new XML or import the plugin in this reply attachment .

Free-D 09-01-2007 02:36 AM

Now, after importing product, browser displays blank page instead AdminCP :(

Anyone that gets this working, can you give us some English screen shots.

Thanks.

Masiello 09-01-2007 04:55 AM

This mod is good for windows operating system users, on a Linux servers the best solution is to do that via .htaccess and .htpassword to protect directories. :)

projectego 09-01-2007 09:05 AM

Great idea! I never say no to extra security. :)

Derekclarke 09-01-2007 02:35 PM

Ok, i have Just installed this, and entered a username and password in Admin CP Authentication Settings

and enabled the security......

now it does not accept the username and password.....

I added the disable plugins, to the config to access the admin cp again, and tried different username and password.... still does not work..

any ideas?

Thanks for sharing your hack, however THIS is a much easier and more flexible way to secure your CP, or any other directory on your forum.

not working boys :S

bwilky 01-09-2008 06:44 PM

Couldn't you just manually make a protection gate in cpanel? Way easier.

MooMan65 01-10-2008 09:08 PM

I recently installed this and found that it would not accept the username/password I specified, and now I have effectively locked out of my Admin panel. I have manually removed all trace of this addon by deleting all the database entries relating to it, yet the damn login box still persists popping up all the time. Is there something else that could be causing it to remain?

Cheers for any help.
