<a href="https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=155636" target="_blank">Here is the request thread</a>
Description This is automatically ban the user who submits their post with "[ban_me]" anywhere in the message. Install ACP --> Plugins & Products --> Manage Products --> [Add/Import Product] Browse to "product-banme_prank.xml" and click "Import". Settings ACP --> vBulletin Options -> Ban Me Prank ======================================== This is optional but recommend if you want better results. ACP --> Custom BB Codes --> Add New BB Code Title: Ban Me Tag: ban_me Replacement: {param} Example: [ban_me]some text[/ban_me] Description: You will be automatically banned if you use this bbcode You can download the attached image, upload it to your site and type the URL into the field for the button image. |
As mentioned above this was a request. You can read the thread requesting this modification here
|
Is it temp or perm?

haha Thanks man :D it's going to be fun next April fools :D
|
Hahaha! I love it! **installed** I'll click install just to see what will happen. lol!
|
I have users on my forum who would actually use this. We often get requests by users to be banned so they aren't tempted to waste a lot of time browsing when they need to get other stuff done. They'll email the admins when they are ready to come back. Crazy, but true!
I think this is a good one for a prank, but I think I'd need something more like an option in their UserCP. I can live without that Mod, but if it was a true option, our users would use it. |
It would be good to maybe have a page where a user can select how long they want to be banned, rather than making useless threads/posts
|
Its a prank?? :o
|
I tried it using a test name and it posted the thread but did not ban the test user. I clicked on the BBcode and did it that way also and the same thing happened.

its a prank!
|
I don't know why it won't work Warden.
I currently have it so the user only has to type "[ban_me]". Would you prefer it if the user needed the closing tag aswell? Ex. [ban_me]this can't ban me :P[/ban_me] |

I am using v3.6.8 and I have tried this hack using the Ban Me icon, with and without ending tags. It just will not work for me.
The only way it works for me if you edit the post after saving and then it will ban the user. Use a test user doing this or you will ban yourself. |

I hardly see the point in this, an option to ban the account for a week or a month or so in the userCP would be better. It could be used when someone goes vacant from the forum for a little while. |
It doesn't work. Nothing.
|
If I use just [ban_me] with text [/ban_me] I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/XXXXXXXXXX/public_html/forums/includes/functions_newpost.php(360) : eval()'d code on line 104 This hack seems not to be compatible with 3.6.8 |

Alibass, Thank you for pointing out the error. I'll try to fix soon. |

Sadomaso. Lol
|
Ya good joke. Can they unban?
|
Lol, nice hack :p Maybe you could allow peope to unban to make a button that shows up only for banned users called unban me (and make a different usergroupd for real banned and fake banned) :p
|
Thanks a lot, Harmor ;)
|
I just edited the plugin to send users to a new usergroup that works like banned.. but labeled "sheeps".
edit this part of the code for both plugins. Code:
SET usergroupid = '8' |
Thanks for the nice product! I was looking for a way to allow our users to "Self Ban" which currently took the form of a request. Now the request is automated! I made some adjustments to the XML to make it self_ban aware (instead of ban_me) and I changed the variable names so that it would not conflict with the original.
