Prison Bars on Banned Users Avatars
 

What is it?
It displays a transparent avatar on top of your banned users avatars
simulating prison bars. The idea is from Jailmod for phpbb. Since the
actual jail functionality is pretty much covered in vBulletin, I thought
I might enhance the fun with some jailbars in vBulletin also. Enjoy!

That depends on what you use. In my article I wrote:

What happens if the user doesn't use avatar ??

Then they don't see it. :P

Just create a general blank faced avatar and add that.

Talking about that, can an avatar be inserted as a default until a user changes it themselves?

A great mod! And you can also use this mod to put twinkly lights around avatars for special occasions or holidays. :)

(Attaching a really subtle one for 100x100 avatars.)

I banned someone who also had not chosen to pick an avatar - they had a default avatar, and this did not add bars to that avatar. is there any way to make sure that happens?

didnt work for me

I installed and uninstalled because it move the join date and time to the left above the avatar which is too high so I have to uninstalled it, after uninstalled, it place X on the banned user without the avatar.
How can I remove the "X" place on the blank avatar?

Hi great idea.

I've installed it and it works when viewing the forum, but when I click the users public profile, it can't find the image.

Any idea how to solve this?

it only edits the template within the postbit, you will have to edit the profile templates also, am just installing this now, and when i have made the changes in the other templates i will upload additional walk throughs.

Obviously the coder never thought about the rest of where the persons profile would be turning up.

Released new version 1.1 today with edit for public profile. The memberlist doesn't show banned users, so I haven't done anything there yet.

Can I test this? How do you set a default avatar?

I actually have it working on the profile pages, but cannot get it to show up in the postbit. [scratches bald head] ;)

I think he might of done that through the interactive profiles hack, that is how I have a default avatar.

This is an excellent mod by the way, been using it for awhile now and everything is working fine.

Maybe you can provide me with some more details if you want some help? Does the avatar show normally on banned users?
