Windows Vista Style

I made this one for my own forum and after success of releasing my first style for free I thought I would do the same for the second version.

This style requires the mod "left_side_column" found here

~Instructions~
  1. Upload the contents of the Vista VB II folder according to your file tree.
  1. Import style VistaVBII.xml
  1. To get the login panel you see on the left you will first need to import the product "left_side_column"

Then....

Login to your admincp, go to style manager select "edit templates" for the vista vb II style.

double click "forum home templates"
then "forumhome_sidecolumn_left"

Clear everything in the template then paste the followong in the template...

<------------------ Insert the below code into forumhome_sidecolumn_left
Code:

<tr>
<td class="thead" align="center">
Member Info
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="alt1">
<div style="padding: 8px 6px 0 0;"><div class="user">
<if condition="$bbuserinfo['userid']">
<strong><phrase 1="$bbuserinfo[username]">$vbphrase[welcome_x]</phrase></strong>
<div class="smallfont">
<phrase 1="$pmbox[lastvisitdate]" 2="$pmbox[lastvisittime]">$vbphrase[last_visited_x_at_y]</phrase>
<if condition="$show['pmstats']"><br /><phrase 1="$vbphrase[unread_x_nav_compiled]" 2="$vbphrase[total_x_nav_compiled]" 3="$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[private_messages_nav]</phrase></if>
</div>
<else />
<!-- login form -->
<form action="login.php" method="post" onsubmit="md5hash(vb_login_password, vb_login_md5password, vb_login_md5password_utf, $show[nopasswordempty])">
<script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/vbulletin_md5.js"></script>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="$stylevar[formspacer]" border="0">
<tr>
<td>User:</td>
<td><input type="text" class="bginput" style="font-size: 11px" name="vb_login_username" id="navbar_username" size="12" accesskey="u" tabindex="101" value="$vbphrase[username]" onfocus="if (this.value == '$vbphrase[username]') this.value = '';" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Pass:</td>
<td><input type="password" class="bginput" style="font-size: 11px" name="vb_login_password" size="12" accesskey="p" tabindex="102" /></td>
</tr>

<input type="hidden" name="s" value="$session[sessionhash]" />
<input type="hidden" name="do" value="login" />
<input type="hidden" name="vb_login_md5password" />
<input type="hidden" name="vb_login_md5password_utf" />
</form>
<!-- / login form -->

very nice thank you

StuntFactoryX 08-11-2007 07:35 PM

dosent fit my site. too proffesional, but excellent work. :)

AndyA 08-11-2007 08:18 PM

Great looking style but I'm not a fan of fixed width versions. Also prefer not to have template edits. Keep up the good work though !

ahmedeldeep 08-11-2007 08:54 PM

i am waiting the arabic translation !!

tekguru 08-11-2007 10:39 PM

Looks good but I agree with the above - fixed with is a no no for me.

TheBlackPoet 08-12-2007 02:02 PM

its very very nice... installed!! how hard would it be to make it a little wider.... for some reason, the added colum pushes my tables to the right.. causing a misalignment..

feel free to check it out... if you go to my site go to the theme selector... and choose the last theme...

Thank you,

I see the problem.

I can fix that pretty easily. I'll take a look at it when I get home.

SCRIPT3R 08-12-2007 04:35 PM

aside from the colors, it reminds me of Windows 95 theme.

rapidphim 08-13-2007 06:09 PM

It's nice but I found this style was Google the net and wondering if someone can implement this into vB style. It'd be freaking awesome.

The thing is this is IPB skin and I do not have the original url to the site. It's a ripped skin anyway.

Are you talking about the original window vista style or the image that I posted?

Smiry Kin's 08-15-2007 04:59 PM

Very nice theme, how about an option for tho's who don't wish to use side colums? :P

regards

Invalid ID 08-16-2007 06:21 AM

I am talking about the original window vista style... the Deme you have shown is a fixed width one, and I would love it if you kindly give us in fluid version. (Full window width). And without the left side bar.

Thanks

Invalid ID 08-18-2007 02:26 PM

Hello?? Any support?

Thanks

just change the width to 100%, and just don't add the colum... simply really, just relocate your logging section, or if you use vbadvanc ed, then just use that to let people log in.

young coder 08-18-2007 04:24 PM

very nice

installed......

Invalid ID 08-19-2007 04:09 AM

Bundle of thanks Smiry Kin's.

I have fixed the width, yet the side column on forumhome is still there. Can you help me remove it?

CMGU 08-19-2007 10:47 PM

very very nice

vbcustomized 08-20-2007 12:56 AM

Thank you for all the kind comments...

As for support and making this 100% fluid...

I will try as soon as I can to make a fluid version with a standard login panel located at the top of the page, However I am very busy on more than one project for paying customers so I can't make any promises as to when the altered style will be available. Please understand that I make these free styles for fun in my spare time, not for a living, so making changes to a style I have already designed can take some time.

With that said, If anyone wants to change this style and post a fluid version here on vborg, that is fine by me, as long as the original link back remains in place and credit is given for the original design.

Thank you again...
V
