What is this AddOn:

This AddOn is a membermap for vBulletin. We coded this AddOn in german and published it on vbhacks-germany.org first, here you will find a stable version in english now.

Your users can add their location on the map... Have a look at it and check yourself.

Most countries in europe are done by now, so if you want to use this AddOn and wish a special country, then let us know and we will upload it.

Installation::

- Upload the files in the 'upload'-folder via FTP.

- Chmod (0777) the following files:

- /vbmembermap/data/vbmembermap_de.data
- /vbmembermap/data/vbmembermap_eu.data
- /vbmembermap/data/vbmembermap_at.data
- /vbmembermap/data/vbmembermap_ch.data

- /vbmembermap/maps/vbmembermap_de_1.png
- /vbmembermap/maps/vbmembermap_eu_1.png
- /vbmembermap/maps/vbmembermap_at_1.png
- /vbmembermap/maps/vbmembermap_ch_1.png

- /vbmembermap/clientscript/vbmembermap_popup.js

- Chmod (0777) the following folder:

- /vbmembermap/backup

- Install the product-file 'vbmembermap-product.xml' in your AdminCP

After your are done with that, follow this instructions:

In AdminCP -> vBulletin-Membermap:

• Install the wanted geodata under 'Geodata'
• Install the wanted maps under 'Maps'
• Choose standard map under 'Maps'.
• Generate the maps under 'Tools'.
• Generate the statistic under 'Tools'
• Choose the right in the usergroups for vBulletin-Membermap

• Belgium
• Czech Republic
• Denmark
• Europe [BeNeLux]
• Europe [NoSeFi]
• Finland
• France
• Germany
• Italy
• Liechtenstein
• Luxembourg
• Netherlands
• Norway
• Spain
• Sweden
• Switzerland
• United States of America (within this thread!)

Please request the map you need in this thread an we'll try our best to upload the data as soon as possible.

Does it include world maps or only euro like in the demo link? Great idea but it really needs to be world wide.

Can any city of any country also be seen in it ????

i installed a perfectly good map for countris none of my members live! i'm in the usa....... still it looks good....

The european map is nearly finished and we included most countries from which we had geodatas from. We got geodatas for the US (and other parts of the world) already and we will keep on working for a worldmap now.

As a matter of fact, we create the maps ourselfs as we don't want to get into troubles with any copyright. That always takes a little while... :o

As this is the first mod which Robert and I made (Robert is very soon going to register aswell) for vB it would be nice, if you guys find anything we need to know (like how to make what better and so on...).

If there are other european countries needed then let us know and we will do our best to upload them as fast as we can.

From this current mod, there are lots of countries missing... how about adding Romania to it?

The problem is, that we do not really speak French,
so your users have to be able to speak (some words) English...

We will upload the other maps (Spain, Norway...) as soon as possible... :D

Vossi has to handle his family and I have to drink, relax and write,
so it should require some time but we will do it in our free time.... :D

How about adding Pakistan, India, USA, UK and some other parts?

We're working on that and publish one map after the other, day by day...

We just started with the countries, the AddOn is quite new and we just finished this (stable) version. We now concentrate on the maps, UK will be next.

Is it possible to get the Psd's or something so the countryname isn't german?

Spain is already online, the rest will follow...
Yeah, I know. Seems to be a hard way for us to go... :o But we'll work on it, step by step.
I saw that the maps within the AddOn aswell as the maps within the BeNeLux-pack still contain the name of each country in german, we'll fix that and remove the name of each country so that it will fit to the rest of the maps.

Nevermind about Romania guys... i'm gonna go with the mod iogames is using.

I used to the one iogames had but most of my members are in the US and Canada. So all the other areas isn't needed, plus if I just show the US the map will be more detailed for each state.

I'll install this as soon as a world map is available!

I use the FREE Google Analytics for build statics for my 'future' Advertisers ;)

i didnt delete the hack after i realized it was all euro maps because I KNEW!!!! you guys would hook us AMERICANS up......... NORTH AMERICA PLEASE!!

We just checked the geodatas we have and we're going to publish maps for USA, Australia, UK und New Zealand next (starting tomorrow). Then we'll try to fullfill specific wishes from you and publish those maps.

I just uploaded the german version of the AddOn. I hope that this will be no problem as this forum is english-speaking only. :confused:

The next Version will include more languages which can be switched in AdminCP.

I am mostly interested in fictional maps, like if your forum is for a specific video game or a book series. For example, a World of Warcraft forum or a Harry Potter forum with a map of Hogwarts. How easy would it be to use in this way?
