StuntFactoryX 07-27-2007 10:33 PM

whats the pro vrs lite features?

EnIgMa1234 07-27-2007 10:42 PM

I am actually not going to have a paid version. I will update this one

FreshFroot 07-28-2007 12:02 AM

didn't someone just make a hack like this 2-3 weeks ago.. I'm sure of it..

EnIgMa1234 07-28-2007 12:03 AM

that was a manual one. this one has more functionality and more to come

FreshFroot 07-28-2007 12:04 AM

here is the link:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...highlight=SOTW

So yours have more options?

EnIgMa1234 07-28-2007 12:07 AM

Yes and the functions of this one will keep rising. That once just uses vboptions. Mine stores the previous winners in the database which can be viewed in the admincp

AzzidReign 07-28-2007 12:24 AM

Very cool! I'll be installing this after I update all my boards. Thanks!

EnIgMa1234 07-28-2007 12:32 AM

Your welcome :)

Ryuk 07-28-2007 12:37 AM

can this be placed Below Forums?

EnIgMa1234 07-28-2007 12:38 AM

yes it can be placed anywhere in the forumhome template

just use the $sotw variable

EnIgMa1234 07-28-2007 01:04 AM

Update: Sorry to bring an update so soon but I have scratched the idea of a paid version. Please upload the new files and product.

DoB Rhapsody 07-28-2007 05:07 AM

Can this be configured so that it only shows at the top of a certain forum?

projectego 07-28-2007 06:49 AM

Very cool hack, Enigma1234. I may have use for this in the future. Thanks for sharing. :)

dacho 07-28-2007 08:28 AM

An announcement of system :
Could not find phrase 'sotw_fill_in_all'.

Is it possible to settle the next version
That all the text will change to be phrase's that we will be able to translate to other language ?

thanks

Hornstar 07-28-2007 08:58 AM

Very nice :)

Some suggestions for a future update:

1. make title Sig Of The Week an option in the admincp to enter The SOTW number then it will show, SOTW #49 in the title, and it will also link to the thread as well.

2. take a look at how the SOTW is on the bottom of this page http://www.gamerzneeds.net/forums/
See the
Name: Rasengan
Prize: Premium Silver! (1 week)
Admin Rating: Good
Click here to visit the thread.

I like that layout more compare to the way this one is, maybe you could think about this in the next update.

3. Is the thread ID/Voting ID just the ID or the link? if it is just the ID can you make it the link instead.

4. Visit Thread - Vote For Next Weeks Can you add that part in the title instead, I think it will make it look nicer.

5. Have a link to "Past Winners" and it will display past winners with dates and their entries.

If you can do those few things, I feel it would be awesome!

Charuvils 07-28-2007 09:34 AM

Nice Mod .. enigma :)

I think what hornstar was getting at in his 3rd question was, I believe, that he runs vBSEO (as do I). So we can't get the ID...so we need to be able to put the full link in rather than an ID.

Very nice, it is coming along good.

1. maybe change signature to Winner's Entry

2. SOTW -> I see that it is now linked to the forums, but just making sure there is a choice of where to link it to. Also, just making sure the title is changeable eg. i will want to change it each week from SOTW #1 then SOTW #2 etc.

3. in details column add the Prize: field

4. in details column add the Admin Rating: Field with the stars (Drop down menu in admincp)

With those last 4 changes, it is coming along very nicely!

EnIgMa1234 08-02-2007 12:34 PM

Yea the thread link works. I have the title done too.

Prize and rating coming soon

EnIgMa1234 08-04-2007 03:42 PM

Updated to version 1.2*

Hornstar 08-07-2007 05:28 AM

Thanks, maybe in next one:

1. you could also have an option in the admincp which has a drop down menu of several different locations of where this can be shown on your site, to save on a template edit.

2. Change Admin Rating from numbers to (Terrible, Bad, Average, Good, Excellent)

3. (from above) have custom title, and have it also link to somewhere custom.

Here are my current bugs I think:

1. Click on 'Main' in the admincp under SOTW and on the next page, I click Add New then on the next page, It has the Add entry part and under that

Code:

Could not find phrase 'sotw_fill_in_all'.
2. Settings (There is no settings on this page, and when I click on setting group drop down, there is none for the SOTW) Is there meant to be something here?

3. on yours, you have
Winner: Admin
Votes: 50

But on mine, winner: and Votes: is not showing up only the info, eg. only Admin and 50 is showing.

Apart from that, it is looking real nice so far.

Thanks.

EnIgMa1234 08-07-2007 11:39 AM

hmm let me check those out :D

1337_macro 08-07-2007 04:07 PM

any updates on the 'sotw_fill_in_all' not found problem?

EnIgMa1234 08-07-2007 04:25 PM

It'll be fixed in the next version ;)

Hornstar 08-08-2007 12:57 AM

Also, there is a valid xhtml problem here

Code:

Line 144, Column 82: document type does not allow element "tbody" here.

…ng><br /> </fieldset></td></tr><tbody> <tr> <td class="tfoot" align="center"

The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements -- such as a "style" element in the "body" section instead of inside "head" -- or two elements that overlap (which is not allowed).

One common cause for this error is the use of XHTML syntax in HTML documents. Due to HTML's rules of implicitly closed elements, this error can create cascading effects. For instance, using XHTML's "self-closing" tags for "meta" and "link" in the "head" section of a HTML document may cause the parser to infer the end of the "head" section and the beginning of the "body" section (where "link" and "meta" are not allowed; hence the reported error).

in enig_sotw template.

I think <tbody> just has to be removed...it says it doesn't belong there.

I'll just wait for the next update, im sure it should be fixed with a few other things when it comes out :)

EnIgMa1234 08-09-2007 10:20 AM

Yep :D I'll have it ASAP

Hornstar 08-14-2007 12:02 AM

I also think the SOTW history is not working correctly

I just had my second entry added to the admincp, new one is showing, but in the history, only the new one is showing, the other entry is no where to be seen in the history.

How long do you estimate until the next update :)

Thanks.

EnIgMa1234 08-14-2007 08:59 AM

About 2 days :) Been working on other projects as well as this

kiwivc 08-14-2007 11:32 PM

I'm sure I followed the instructions carefully however I get this error

Could not find phrase 'sotw_fill_in_all'

I'm noob so please be gentle.
