Urgent: Bug!

I've noticed a bug in score submitting that needs to be fixed as soon as possible!

I believe this only concerns forums that use "only save users best score" method. Let me explain it:

- First I score 5 points and my time is 1:15.

- Then let's say I get further in the game and I score 250 points, and use time for 5:25.
When there score is saved it saves my score but takes the the previous time (in this case, 1:15). So now I have 250 score and 1:15 time used when others near me have used over 5:00. And since my time is 4 minutes faster than others (which normally is impossible) I get the first overall place.

This needs to be fixed asap! Some of my games now have very unrealistic times...

The faster you can get a quick fix for this the better. Few new games have been totally ruined by this bug... :/

can you reproduce this ? does this happen with all games ? you used always the same game ?

Please tell me exactly how to do this ...

can't see a problem right now

My arcade has done this since the day I installed it. I kind of assumed it was a known bug.

For me, it's all games.

Basically, the high score updates fine but the TIME always stays the same as the first time the player played the game.

Yes that's EXACTLY the problem. And usually the first time you play a game the time is fast cause you're just learning...

I just changed to "only save user's best score" last week and noticed this bug today. So I thought it was 2.6.2+ bug but obviously this has existed longer (as you said).

Btw, it's not actually the FIRST TIME you ever got. If you get better time and score then it changes to that. I just tested this on a game on my forum. I had never played this game before.
On my first try I got 12 points and my time was 1:51.
On my second try I got 13 points and my time was 1:34.
On my third try I got 66 points and my time was over 5 minutes.

What does it say on high scores?
It says 66 points and time 1:34.

Basically it can be considered a cheat. The first time you can kill yourself and just try to get it done as fast as possible (0 score but very fast time). Then you play real and focus and get a good score and you have an impossible time. And when you have the same score time counts...

I will investigate this ...

Any rough estimate for 2.6.3, I got a lot of members on several sites complaining about this.

Stifmeister2 07-28-2007 09:56 PM

Damn you guys should have posted about this earlier! ;) :p I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed this and I've had "only save user's top score" for only 3 weeks now. :)

Well I was trying to ignore my members complaints but now that I am getting them from 3 other sites as well.
