Affiliate Box - Scrolling and Fading Affiliate Buttons

There are more template edits guys, sorry. This will fix xhtml errors.
For those that use TMS, you won't have any template edits.
Also, marquee has been removed due to the xhtml errors. If you don't care about being xhtml valid, I'll explain how to get your marquee back.

Features:
Adds an affiliate box in "What's Going On?"
Collapsible box
Images are faded and they light up when you scroll over them

Install instructions for TMS users:
Upload product
[optional] If you want the topsites to show, go into TMS > Affiliates and FORUMHOME: Add topsite box, set active: YES.


Install instructions for Non-TMS users:

Go to Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Edit Templates
Choose Forum Home Templates > Forumhome

Find:
Add above:
OPTIONAL: To add the topsites, add below <!-- insert affiliate box -->:

Choose headinclude template.
Find:
Add above:


You're done!



To add a site, go to Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Edit Templates > Affiliates and find affiliate_sites (topsite links are found in affiliate_topsite_sites). In there, you can add this code:
The affiliates phrase is affiliate_sites.
The topsite phase is topsites.


For those still interested in marquee, you can add this above your first affiliate/site/link:
<marquee width="100%" valign="center" direction="left" scrolldelay="2" scrollamount="1.5" onmouseover="this.stop()" onmouseout="this.start()">

And add this below your last affiliate/site/link:
</marquee>

By the way, it would be much better if you can modify it so the affiliate box is on top of the what's going on, instead of the bottom.

For that, all you would have to do is put the "<!-- insert affiliate box -->" above the "Mark as read" section of the code. But it will probably look funny. You can move it above your users if you'd like, you would just have to move the "<!-- insert affiliate box -->" right below "<!-- what's going on -->".

And no, there's no size restriction. I personally like having multiple small buttons (88x31 is normal affiliate button size) but you can have whatever size fits your site best.

it looks great, i changed the size to make it look nicer and it's so simple to handle but i'd like to know is it board intensive using gifs instead of jpgs?

the images are so small... i don't think so it will be add load to server. :)

hi i installed this great affiliates box but i was wondering how can i add 2 like you have on your forum? coz i want one for partners and one for topsites. also how can i changed the title of the box? from affiliates to topsite?

Go to the forumhome_affiliate_sites template. Find <div>, replace with <div align="center">

That should work :) Maybe you should get more affiliates ;) lol j/p

The images aren't really "board intensive", but if you have a large animated .gif file, then your users will probably see that the page loads rather slow compared to before.

I'll go ahead an add another product for this, but to do this manually, scroll to the very bottom and paste this code:
I've bolded the line if you'd like to edit the "title" of it. It's currently set to "Topsites - Vote for us!".

I've just updated the attachments. In the zip, there are 4 products (I hope they are self explanatory):
affiliates
affiliates marquee
affiliate topsite (will add 2 boxes, 1 for affiliates and 1 for your topsites)
affiliate topsite marquee (same as above but with scrolling images)

Actually I'm going to use this as you've got it setup right now, just I don't want it to say 'Affiliates', everything else is just the way I want it and thank you for creating it.

What would I edit exactly in the template so it says 'blahblah-whatever' ?

Is this mod XHTML 1.0? I got a number of errors when I used it on my forum.

I haven't checked...most of it is vbulletin code...I'll have to look into it later and if there's a problem, then I'll fix it.

I believe I've fixed all of the xhtml errors. I tested it out on my testboard and everything checked out properly. If you have a problem, please let me know.

And I apologize for the inconvenience this update may bring to some people but I hope it's smooth sailing from here.

You use photoshop to make them. Go to my site (the demo link) and you can learn how to use photoshop and make your own :D
