Description:
Place and maintain an effective and awesome looking S.O.T.W box on your forumhome. Absolutely NO template edits are required. Just import the product and start modifying the settings.

Features:
- On/Off Switch
- Link to winner's profile.
- Link to original poll/thread in which the winner was declared.
- Easy image placement (Absolutely no HTML knowledge required, just the image link).
- Rate the signature on a scale from 1 to 5.
- Prize announcement: Write what prize(s) the winner won.
- SOTW Location: Select where you want the SOTW to display on forumhome, from a selection of 4 different locations.

Installation Instructions:
1. Unzip the folder.
2. Upload 'product-hs_sotw.xml' to the Product Manager in the vBulletin AdminCP.
3. Manage Settings via AdminCP => vBulletin Options => vBulletin Options => HS - SOTW

I spent heaps of time on this only a week ago on my site lol.

This one looks 10x better tho :D removing my crappy looking one and installing this :)


Edit: I was just looking at last weeks SOTW and we had a joined SOTW where 2 members worked together on the one sig, anyway, you could maybe in a future update, include a way to enter multiple winners?

anyway, I just thought of another feature:

Possibly where the title is: SOTW #46

If you could make it something similar to: SOTW #46 Vote in SOTW#47 now!

So in the settings, you would have an extra place to add the link to the next SOTW voting and the number of that SOTW

That way it would promote the next voting SOTW as well :)

Just an idea.

This is an EXCELLENT hack. However, I have a suggestion.

Currently, clicking on SOTW # (whatever) will take you to the winning thread. Clicking on that should take you to a page with all the previous winners & their respective winning sigs.

So... future SOTW? Although I don't exactly have that planned I'll consider it, thanks.

Up until now, I was manually editing the template.
Is there any way to make it forum specific?
I tried changing it to FORUMDISPLAY AND $forumid=x
but I failed. :(

You want to make it display in certain forums?

If so, go into the template FORUMDISPLAY
OR if you want it to display in multiple forums...
1, 2, and 3 being the forumid's, this should work perfectly fine. If you want you can use more than three forums.

are you able to like put it on just 1 forum? like it will be cool to like put it on just the graphic section of your site once somebody click on the graphics forum they see that on top or something.

By disabling the plugin itself in the Plugin Manager, it will remove it from FORUMHOME but still show in the forums you assign in the template.
Plugins & Products - Plugin Manager
Find: HS - Signature of the Week: Display Location (forumhome_start) and DISABLE.
Then, add the code supplied by StrifeX

This way works for me but it disables everything except what you manually add to templates.I'm sure if you edited the plugin manager code, you could allow for more function.

the other one has no "Location" option plus this one its in a very good release and yet its full free (which the other author said, he will release a better version but he will charge for it)

wow, we were un-aware that there was another similar mod release to this one. We created the addon from scratch, and didn't use any source/got the idea from that modification. Just to clarify ;)

is this editable so I could simply have 'design of the month' as im running a graphic design forum. Maybe a thumbnail display incase the desin was too large to show the full size image. I don't like the limitations of 'sig of the week' as i dont allow images in sigantures anyway rofl.

actually i only want it on certain forumdisplays (say 2) not every forum

then you would have to add a code to your forumdisplay template..

I may install this hack.. since the other SOTW.. doesn't work properly on 3.6.8 and the creator is to busy to update it.

what would be the code to show on a few forumdisplays but not others ?

you know what would be neat - i know its not going to happen but where avatar is - have an option to load your own pic there for example so you can give the user an Award of some type in that space.

How do you change the heading from SOTH to Signature Of The Week.

I've looked in the phrases and templates and cant find a change.
