MGC vBProjects Light
 

Description

This mod lets you add a pretty simple project management system. It allows you to add to your forum a tool to plan project and follow them (kinda like a small MS Project).

Projects are assigned to users which manages its progression.


Functionnalities

Here is a small description of the functionnalities

1.0 : Creation
  • Configured completly through the vbulletin options:
    • Usergroup ids that can edit/remove any project
    • Number of projects shown by page in the projects list
    • Number of characters shown in the description of a project on the search result page
  • Usergroup permissions to use vBProjects:
    • Authorization to create project (Project manager)
    • Authorization to participate to a project
    • Authorization to be part of a project
  • Project can be created by a project manager with the following informations
    • Title
    • Status (Pending, in progress,...)
    • Priority (Low, medium, ...)
    • Members of the project
    • Description
      Once a project has been created, it can be modified or removed by the project manager or one of the user in the usergroup that can edit/remove any project

      The project's progression can also be updated by the project manager or the users that have the rights to edit/remove any project. Members of the project have also the rights to update the project's progression
  • Search by keywords in the projects
The full version contains more functionnalities :
  • Split of a project in different tasks (projects progressions are automatically linked to their tasks progressions)
  • Possibility to add comments in the tasks
  • Detailled stats
  • In the user profile: display of the currently active projects created by the user and also the one he is member of
However, you must remove the light version before installing the full one.

Install


Refer to the README file in the zip file.

Once install is finished, don't forget to go in the usergroup management in order to set the permissions of the usergroups for the vBProjects mod.

Becareful: By default, there are no groups which can access to the projects if you don't do that.

It was developped for vb-hacks.org, vbulletin-ressources.com and vbulletin.org.

When I go into the usergroup there are selections but nothing that says what the selections are.

Also I noticed that the php files are spelt mgc_vbprojets_projets.php and not as projects; with a c if that means anything.

The selections without names might come from a previous xml bitfield of a file you didn't removed and as I rebuild bitfields upon install they now appears.

You should remove the one causing problems and rebuild bitfields manually.

Do you at least see the usergroup options for the MGC Vbproject ?

For the file this is normal, these are french name as you might know I develop in french and then translate :)

I think you can find them in includes/xml folder but can't tell which ones :(

To identify them, you can validete usergroup permissions to see which errors vbulletin fires you.

love it!! everything works great.... QUESTION:

when a project is created or updated, can it create a thread on the forum so that other people can see the progress... without that.. the project hack will not get as much attention except by those involved in the project..

if this is an option in the full version.... COOL!!

Hum actually no this is not possible.

However, I could add that in the next full version ;)

I think I could make soomething more like : kind of marquee of all project actually active and their progress on the forumhome.

You know you can change the language on our forum with the dropdown at the bottom of the juicy style ;)

And as stated in the first post, we provide both french and english versions of our non-free hacks :)

Two questions.

1. I installed the English version but in my profile it says: "Regarde la page d'accueil de vBProjets vBProjects @ 09:12 AM" (not english).

2. When I go to any project, on the top of the page it says : "" (Some weird Ascii characters)

How can I fix this?

This is because you had a xml bitfield file of the fcpermissions mod in your includes/xml directory and this mod might not be present anymore am I right ?

If this is the case, you have to remov the bitfield xml file of the fcpermissions mod and then to rebuild bitfield manually (temporarly debug mode activation and then Rebuild bitfields menu item in the vbulletin options menu)

You mean on our forum in digishop ? I have put the english phrases but as stated, the descriptions are not yet available in english, but all the digishop interface is available in english when the english language is selected. No ?

Wow really strange ! Do you have any problem with the wyswyg editor in other vbulletin pages ? It may come from the custom bbcode buttons but not sure.

I suppose it could be a style issue more than a bug in the hack, could you try it on the default vbulletin style ?

The Error was the ++++ing Internet Explorer from Microsoft :mad:

On that part I disagree with you ! What Jelsoft did is more like a bug tracker, there are no project following and planification at all.

My product is more likely a project planification and management tool. But doesn't manage bug tracking as their tool does.

Yeah I have vb 3.6.7PL1 and have exactly the same problem. I go to add a project and I get a can not be displayed page.

Hi,

Just another bug found. I installed the english version yet when you look at whos online it shows the following for someone viewing (what works) of the vbprojects.

Regarde un projet

Any ideas?

hey mate i tried it without the smodpermissins file but id didnt work and i dont have anything called fcpermissions
