Strange.... I was under the impression that the new vb.org skins, designed by Princeton, were designed exclusively for vb.org and weren't available for download by the public.

Was I wrong?

Where did you see the download?

I didn't see the download, but I saw the Blue Lagoon skin on another site... identical.

Yeah I did a massive search and didnt see it available for download either.

Someone probably tried to copy it. Can you blame them?

A few other sites in the past had it, they were shut down pretty fast. Never saw them again.

Wow, I've seen sites that use bits and pieces of vB.org's design, but not the WHOLE thing....

Princeton you should sue them! :)

Not to copy their layout, it's not.
But to copy their images - that's copyright infringement.

which images? the vast majority of the images are default vBulletin images. The layout is basically the default template for vbulletin other than the header and such. Simply put it is just a replica of the real deal so this person has technically done nothing wrong.

The last couple of posts were about copying designs in general, not the particular style in question :)

the style is not available to the public ... it's flattering but using vBulletin.org's images IS copyright infringement (and no, I'm not referring to buttons, etc)

What site(s) has cloned the skin? Is it the EXACT same?

There have been a few posted on vB.org but they were removed, don't have a list of the sites.
They are exact same from the naked eye

If this skin was publically released, I would seriously think about using it. Good job Princeton.

Come to think of it, it's probably more work trying to copy a skin and working out all the quirks then to just make a nice one from scratch. :D

Do you know of any other sililar skins? I mean, one that keeps the default core colors and only changes the background and herder.

There are a couple of them in the styles section here on vb.org. I don't have the links for them tho.
