Urgent Announcement
*******************************************
| Mod: Urgent Announcements v1.0.2 | Author: ZomgStuff | vBUlletin Version: 3.6.7 PL1 | URL: www.zomgstuff.net ******************************************* What does this mod do? This mod allows you to create a message at the very top. It is great for quick little news that need to be seen ASAP (ie: forum downtime, help needed, etc). Please refer for the screenshots below to fully understand what this does as I'm not too great with explinations:rolleyes: There are many many options for it and I couldn't fit all of them in one screenshot. Help will only be given to those that click install. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/vborg_mis...hreadid=150345 Instructions: 1) Go to Admin CP -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> Add / Import Product 2) Go to Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Edit Template -> Open 'header' 3) At the very top of the 'header' template, please place this, Code:
$UrgentAnnoucement **If you are upgrading, you must remove / delete this hack from Add/ Import Products before uploading the new XML. **Be sure to write down your current settings as they will be put back to default! Next version will include an option to display different messages based on usergroup. To see a live example, please visit: http://www.zomgstuff.net/forum/forum_index.php The box in the top left corner would be the mod. nice hack. very handy so you don't have to keep cluttering up forums with global announcements.
|
nice hack thanks
|
nice mod
better than announcements stands out more |
very cool! thanks!
|
Oh yeah - there's an extra '>' at the beginning of the 'zs_announcement' template - right after '$stylevar[htmldoctype]'
It was putting that character onto the top of all of the pages. |
prob. is, if you remove it, the box covers the actual forum template (design).... but when you turn off the announcements, the > gets visible. any work-around?
|
thanks for sharing this hack

Maybe there's a div style that can change that around, change "The box position" from absolute to something else. |
Here's another screenshot with much better settings.

I just uploaded v 1.0.2 of the hack which now includes an option for an informative icon to be displayed. Check the screenshot in this post for an example of it.
Next release will include an option to display different messages based on usergroup. I leave tomorrow morning for a 3 week vacation so it might be a while until then. I might be able to add this tonight, but I can't promise anything because I'm extremely busy today. Akliyo I will include that in the next release. |
installed thanks :)
