New Members Page

What is this!?
This modification will produce a New Members page listing the username, avatar, profile pic, and joindate of the latest users sorted by joindate. The amount listed is based on an admin configurable limit. If the user has no avatar or profile pic, a default one is used.

This was originally made by request, 3.5 version can be found here.

Current Version
1.0.3

Current Features:
Can submit to the following sites:
  • Can be turned on/off
  • Limit how many days of registrations this will show (eg: 7 will show reg. dating back 7 days)
  • Limit how many users are listed per page
  • Default avatar and profile pic if the user does not have one

Features flagged for future version(s):
  • Anything that you all suggest.

Will this work on x.x.x ??
Unless otherwise stated, this will work on all 3.6 versions.

Sounds cool. How do I install?
  1. Import the product, product-newmemberspage.xml
  2. Upload images found in images/misc to your forum's images/misc folder.
  3. Upload newmembers.php to your forum root.
  4. You need somewhere to link the newmembers page. Put it anywhere you want, here's an example:

    Template navbar

    Find:
    HTML Code:

    <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="calendar.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>
    After add:
    HTML Code:

    <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="newmembers.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[newmembers]</a></td>
  5. Set options in AdminCP > vBulletin Options > New Members Page

That's it! Enjoy! :)

johnrizz 06-12-2007 10:25 PM

sweet mod!! thanks dude....

alessai 06-12-2007 10:32 PM

nice but useless for me

Muellmann 06-12-2007 10:50 PM

Excellent mod. Can you make it listing the sigs too?
Many users have to big sigs from photobucket etc. Such option would be cool to check their sigs fast too ;)

CMGU 06-13-2007 12:24 AM

thanks is excellent

Sychev_S 06-13-2007 12:50 AM

is it possible to make it show profile fields?

I'll see about having that as an option in the next version :)

Which profile fields? Certain ones? Or the standard vB default?

digital3 06-13-2007 02:59 AM

Maybe I'm being dense here or missing something but exactly what does this do that the default members page *can't* do?

Obviously, I wouldn't want 640x480 profile pics trying to load on the members page (unless it creates a thumbnail instead of using the entire image).

projectego 06-13-2007 04:28 AM

Very nice little hack, SecondV!

Hornstar 06-13-2007 12:58 PM

how many new users will it show on that page?

maybe a way for admins to easily check what the users IP is, to see if any of them created a few accounts when signing up.

edenx 06-13-2007 02:10 PM

Can you add custom fields to show on your listings? (admin definable)

The Chief 06-14-2007 06:35 PM

Hey SecondV, it's me again, don't know if you remember ;)

Yeah, working on a new community, and I was wondering if you found out how to add all the latest member's avatars on the forumhome?

That would be awesome!! :)

Thanks!!

I also like the idea of showing user definable fields. I have a field "How did you find us" and it would be nice to see how every new user found the site on one page.

Vizionz 06-16-2007 06:28 AM

this is a decent hack :) works fine

Since I will be starting a new job soon, I will not have any time to work on my modifications.
Therefore, anyone who wants to take my modification(s) and build/improve them further, are free to do so.
All I ask is you give proper credit.

chris1979 10-09-2007 08:40 PM

It would be great if we can show custom fields.

Also, could a row of new members pics be put on the forumhome page?

Eric 01-23-2010 06:42 PM

Just curious if there's any interest for this in 3.8/4.0?

Kosmic1 01-24-2010 09:50 PM

I use 3.8.4 and this works fine. Maybe an option in admin with some places to put the "new members" link would be nice ;)
