Custom Profile Fields + Secondary Usergroups
 

With this add-on you can add users to secondary usergroups based upon the value of the custom profile field they choose when registering.

If you find any errors or problems please post them.

Following the instructions until:

To set up the secondary usergroup for each profile field go to ACP --> User Profile Fields --> Profile Fields & Usergroups.

I don't have that option, i only have user profile feild manager and add new user profile field.

You're looking in the right place. The Profile Field Manager is where you add and edit Profile Fields.

Not sure if you read my full post? Following the instructions (i wrote full details), it's like part of the mod is missing.

I don't have 'profile fields and usergroups', i only have 'user profile feild manager' and 'add new user profile' field.

Where is profile fields and usergroups?

I really want to use this and have already waited 4 days for an answer that didn't help :(

All I can suggest is try uninstalling then reimporting the product.

Is there a way to change it from '"Field Editable by User" needs to be "Only at registration"' - so that it can be editable. This really restricts things, as peoples situations change, i need them to be editable?

I'm having the same blank screen issue mentioned above and cannot find the link in ACP.

As a feature request: the ability to use single-line text boxes would be useful as a "Promo Code" or "Password" feature allowing people to add themselves to premium or private usergroups.

Of course, make it shown @ registration & then a hidden field.
That's what I do.

I use it as a Single Line Text Box ("Invitation Code")

i just did this and I got it to work just fine. dont forget to edit the URL for your site too, btw!

ok, i guess it didnt work like it was supposed to. People can pick which group they want to be in, but it doesnt throw them into that group at all.

I'm not using this particular one, but I did get

working and it is working fine on 3.7.1.

Did it work as is, or did you have to modify it a lot? That's a pretty old version.

If I recall it installed fine as it was, and has worked perfectly as I upgraded from 3.6 into 3.7, and now into 3.7.3.

The functionality is really nice, whichever one you get working.

Hey this Mod works perfect! Only one thing I can't seem to change. My current users are being prompted to fill in this missing information (Gender) but it is confussing them because it is already preselected.

I have radio buttons for Male and Female and the Male is perselected. How do I make it so it's not selected already?

Have it fixed and newly added!

Thanks Tyran1, if you have email activation does this mod respect this and ad user AFTER activation of account in the respective group?

Does it work for more usergrups and how you set it up?
