Downloaded..
I personally find this annoying.. If I have ever downloaded a modification it comes up as Downloaded even if it is not installed.. When you click on downloaded it marks you as installed..
I personally find this annoying? |
I second that!:erm:
|
I wouldn't mind it, except "Downloaded" is a bit long and obscures the thread title.
|
I hate it as well :|
I download many modifications to look at the code |

It's actually designed to show mods you have downloaded in the last month (only) but not marked as installed - to encourage/remind people to mark them. This is reflected in the list (in usercp) but not on forum/search displays atm, that bit got sidelined by the 3.6.6 upgrade, so you'll just have to put up with it until I add the time limit (at the weekend, unless I get time before). JFYI, if you mark one as installed, and then mark it as uninstalled again, it will no longer show as downloaded (at least until you download it again). |
Ok fair eneugh.
I sometimes download modifications and install them on my localhost forum to see what they are like, if I do not like them I will not install it on the live forum therefore I shall not click install :) |

Well, it sure is giving me a few more installs :D

i kinda find it annoying too at first, but for one reason i think it is good...
tagging them downloads, or installed, or updated, this is good for one reason... this forum is used as a software repository. if we can't track the releases by there status, how can we... i prefer seeing them tagged as downloaded than to have to click a button... i hate buttons. and it was an answer to everybody wanting to have a "automatically tag as installed when we download so the author know how many have really used the code..."... |

I found that clicking "Mark Installed" and then clicking "Mark Uninstalled" clears the "Downloaded" status off the Showthread page.
Can anyone confirm? I think it's a nice way to get rid of the "Downloaded" prefix for all you people who hate it so much. |
Read the last bit of post#5 ;)
Also, Downloaded will only show for 30 Days after you last download the mod, after that it will disappear again. |
also, in forumdisplay, clicking the Downloaded link make it installed... can i suggest we could do the opposite, clicking the "installed" link to make it uninstalled?!

Before >> After Updated >> Installed Downloaded >> Installed Installed >> Uninstalled I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not, but it would be more consistant. |
Its still the fact that if you download anything, to get rid of the Download text you would still need to install then uninstall
|
Hey guys, this isnt really on the topic of the new "downloaded" thing, but i reckon something similar to show that your interested in a mod. Like a tick box in the mod and a 'interest' thing infront of the mod thread title and a searchable thing in our usercp's would be fantastic. So often i see a mod that i dont want to install at the moment, but i would like to keep future reference of it, so i dont loose track of it. I currently just use a word document to do it, but its a sucky system :P.
Just a thought, could be a good idea for people. Cheers |
Just subscribe to it.

Implementing that would be pointless. |
lol, i completely forgot about that. Thanks :p

I rather like it - I often download a hack and don't click install until I actually get it implemented, and often times I forget I downloaded something lol so it helps me keep track of my "to-do"
|
If I have a "downloaded" mod that is updated, will it show "updated" link to me?
|
No. You must have it marked as installed for that.
