vBulletin 3.6.6 Problems.

1 Attachment(s)
I have upgraded my vBulletin 3.6.5 to 3.6.6 today, I m facing few errors as listed below.

1) In ACP, I am still getting this message on the top saying "Latest version available: 3.6.6"
which i don't think so should appear after the upgradation. My License is not yet expired.

2) In the forum, Instead of thread starter's name, it shows the lastpost by's name on the display which i feel a BIGGEST bug.

How do i get rid of this?
Any one else is having such problems or not?

Adding the attachments to make my point more clear. :erm:

For error #1) Its not an error. Its always been there and always will be. It does what it says, it tells of the latest version available, not the version you havent upgraded to yet. If you want to remove it, youd have to edit the index.php file in your admincp folder on your FTP.

#2) That is indeed a weird error. Im positive since that is a custom skin you need to edit some templates. It even says so in the "For your information" box. Should see what needs to be edited in thread_display. (I think its that template.) To verify this bug, check out the default style and see if it is still acting up. If not, then it is a style problem.

reupload the files.

in the admincp press CTRL+F5 to get new javascript, same with the other error. Revert all templates if necassary as well.

Did you revert your templates?

Terrasoft 05-12-2007 06:51 PM

Eh? Personally, I wouldnt waste time reuploading files. You should really check your templates first and then if need be...reupload files. Or reupload showthread.php and see if that fixes it.

Let me check My templates first :(

If i revert it, then i will have to fix all my mods again rite :(

It's news, it will stay there until you dismiss it.

Terrasoft 05-12-2007 07:42 PM

Actually, you cant dismiss that part at the very top can you?

and yes, if you revert...all those template changes will have to be redone. Its a pain in the arse.

That is part of the fun. You have two choices. Don't upgrade and stay on your current version, or upgrade and revert all templates then re apply the modifications. Set up a dev site and upgrade that and reapply all mods. Then upgrade your live site and copy/paste the template changes over. I had to do 18 template reverts. The whole thing took just under an hour.

Then tell me how to dismiss it then. ^_^

In case you seem misinformed, hes talking about the very top part where it says Admin Control Panel(Vbulletin 3.6.6) Latest Version Available: 3.6.6 Forum Homepage|Logout

He wants to not see the latest version?

All that part is, is just that - the latest version.

It's not saying 'You have not updated to the latest version.'

Before you revert all your templates, do template compare in style manager for whichever ones are the problem, it's likely only a few lines of code to edit/add/delete instead of reverting then starting all over.

There must not be a way to delete the latest " For Your Information " I have 3 of them and only the older 2 have dismiss.

BTW when the upgrade tries to send you to your admin cp the links wrong it has index.php twice at the end
