Great problem!! (vB 3.6.5)
I?ve a great problem and I need help.
This is my vBulletin community: http://www.foromotos.com A friend has designed a contest that uses the login of the forum to be able to accede to it but, after the last update - (6.3.5) - isn?t possible. I need the minimum code necessary to be able to write php external to vbulletin but that it uses its session to be able to accede to the data (login) of the user. Thank?s PD: sorry for my English. |
So you're wanting to be able to log the logins of your users?
|
I need that the users of the forum could enter to the contest with the same login of the forum.
|
you're saying you want your contest to use the same user table as the forums?

<a href="https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=100150&highlight=competitions.php " target="_blank">https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showt...mpetitions.php</a> I would post the code to mine, but mine has been customized to charge points, and automatically pick a winner out of the participants (based not on an answer like the base mod, but on the number of entries).
nevertheless this is what i use....and it is highly customizable as you can see I have done. |

I don't know jack about programming, php/mysql, etc., however I can say that it can be easily done.
I had someone create a contest program for me in the past. I also used a program from www.ubidog.com (event handler) that worked really well. It may be overkill for what you need though, as you can do just about anything under the sun with it. Basically, I used it to run contests on my site, and the login integrated with the forum. I first used it with ubbthreads, then switched to vbulletin. They don't have an option for a vbulletin plugin on their site, but they can make you one for like 40 bucks. The software costs 100 dollars, so you're looking at 150 give or take for the program and the integration. Otherwise, I'm sure you could find someone on here with a solution. |
Thank you, shortbus1662
Has someone an idea? |
If your code includes global.php it will have access to all vbulletin functions, classes and properties - including information about the currently logged in user. The information is kept in $vbulletin->userinfo or $bbuserinfo. There's a tutorial around here somewhere about writing your own vbulletin powered pages.
