Someone no like you, and from what I can tell they no what there doing big time, best option, get new hosting and a new domain.

Philipaclayton 04-26-2007 07:44 PM

Zachery 04-26-2007 07:46 PM

That is advice, if your forum is being hacked, files replaced, database changes made, your server may have been comprimsied.

Philipaclayton 04-26-2007 07:48 PM

wtf?? i paid for this software which you guys made your a mod right? you should be givin me advice not tellin me to go buy new hostin. i want to no how they did this or how to fix this!!

There is no %100 percent safe board, as you can see the guys who are hacking you know what they are doing, nothing we can do here, the best option for you, is tow try to hide your self, via new hosting and a domain. If you keep using the same domain and hosting there just gonna keep hacking you.

You had two people here who were more than willing to give you advice, until you bit their heads off. See how much advice you get now! You just can't talk to people like that.

My advice? Check your logs, check which files are being accessed to identify the file being used for exploit, change all of your passwords and re-upload all core files. I would do a fresh upload - as in if you can remove ALL existing files from your host (or have your host wipe your account). You have a corrupt file somewhere that is being used as a backdoor IMO. It could be in an installed plug-in, an external program (i.e flashchat etc.) I would also be sure that you are the only one with admin access to your forums/ftp. Make sure all other accounts have limited access (if you have more than one FTP account) and any programs you are running beyond the forums - check for exploits on google. Ensure you are running the most up - to date software possible.

As for getting a new domain and a new host - unless it is a situation where the main host is compromised, that is an unnecessary step. You should work directly with your host - perhaps run a virus check on your account, and inform them that you are being compromised and they will do everything in their power to find the exploit. What host are you using?

ITS POSSIBLE ITS NOT VBULLETIN, HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF THAT??!

Just because you're being hacked/exploited doesn't mean its from vBulletin.

Philipaclayton 04-27-2007 06:35 AM
