BamaStangGuy 04-20-2007 06:37 AM

Look forward to seeing what kind of improvements this will have. One of my favorite hacks

eXtremeTim 04-20-2007 06:40 AM

Please if you have any feature requests submit them over on my site so I can better keep track of them.

Right now heres what I have planned

Extend the functionality of this to the whos online locations of the following areas forumdisplay, forumhome, whos online, and the show thread pages.

Possible extending this into a more overall whosonline addon:
- Creating additional whosonline view pages like a forum view where you can see which users are in which threads in that forum and not all the forums
- Forums with users view - shows a list of forums that have users in them and the number of users and the % of online users
- other more advanced pages inspired by the old ubb whos online hack from back in the day.

The purpose would be this. The more information about our site the better we can see what our users are doing so we know whats working and whats not. This will allow us to expand on them areas more and grow the site faster.

Hornstar 04-20-2007 07:01 AM

looks good so far. i will also keep track of your current progress on the above features.

projectego 04-20-2007 07:09 AM

Thanks, Tim.

/me clicks install

eXtremeTim 04-20-2007 07:13 AM

There is alot of work to be done before this hack will have all its features. So keep that in mind anybody planning to wait for v2.

rjmjr69 04-20-2007 08:29 AM

WOW thanks guys this is awesome. I'm installing now and will get right back to you.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2007/04/10.jpg

Ok installed without a hitch even with my highly modified templates. Here is a screen shot of the results I will be changing the text colors which Is a really nice feature.
One request I have is can you put the Bots on their own line?
And maybe list them alphabetically?

This bot is not getting listed as a bot?
vps.allowmeout.com 207.58.179.168

Other than that seems to work as described and installed without a hitch thank you.
By the way how many queries does this add?

eXtremeTim 04-20-2007 08:48 AM

The script doesnt know about every bot. It know about a good deal of them but not all.

The bots being on the same line there is caused by your style.

rjmjr69 04-20-2007 08:58 AM

Also could you have it so the bots are not included as members? So in my snapshot it would read
6
2 members 1 guest 3 bots

Really? Good to know. Would you happen to know how I could change that? everything works just fine. How does one get a bot included on the list?

Good work thank you very much

eXtremeTim 04-20-2007 09:09 AM

That change is planned for an upcoming version.

The bots that are included are controlled by the vbulletin spiders xml file. In the xml directory.

rjmjr69 04-20-2007 09:22 AM

LOL I know they are controlled from there. What I was asking is if you knew how I could move them to a new line on my forum you said thats a template issue correct? Thanks

And here is an updated Spiderslist I've gathered from the site you mention and a few others. Has a bit more listed if you would like to include this in your package that would be fine I'll delete the link here.

Attachment 63400 Updated list 50mg.

Thanks

Question: I remember manually editing my forumhome to have spiders being run. Do you know which one i used? I'm asking if you know which one, because i want to uninstall and revert the codes so i can use your mod.

If you don't know what mod i used to manually edit my files, how do i add that spider list to my forums?

M-Tuning 04-20-2007 01:58 PM

Nice

Robru 04-20-2007 03:00 PM

Thank you, for this great job ... :)

voteforbird 04-20-2007 05:00 PM

When I click on a spider link I get the following error:
Quote:

Table 'volconvo_vbulletin.spider_watcher' doesn't exist

Masiello 04-20-2007 05:38 PM

This mod overwrite any other mod that have the same xml file name "spiders_vbulletin" can you personalize it please?
I'm talking about this:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=131314 from Paul M

eXtremeTim 04-20-2007 05:48 PM

spiders_vbulletin.xml is a stock datafile used to track spiders online. Replacing it is safe and advised.

maamon 04-20-2007 05:55 PM

Possible translation into Arabic product ؟

Kirkus 04-20-2007 05:59 PM

Very nice. Installed.

I don't quite understand what "logged out users" means. Could someone explain?

Doug Nelson 04-20-2007 06:09 PM

Nice mod.

I'm showing two logged off users as "ewt_eusersonline #1" and "ewt_eusersonline #2". I have no such registered users.

voteforbird 04-20-2007 06:20 PM

I think when you hover it says who they are… I disabled that.

And I think "logged out" users means people who would still show up as logged in had they not clicked the "log out" button.

Doug Nelson 04-20-2007 06:25 PM

All my logged out users multiply every time I hit refresh or nav back to the main forum page.

If I replace it the Paul M mod don't works and have to remove it

Greek76 04-20-2007 07:24 PM

I noticed a problem with the mod. Its great and I like very much but it had some negative affect to the current users online screen. When I click on the ipaddress it just completely dissapears lol. I uninstalled the mod but still having the same problem on all my skins. So I reinstalled it back anyways. Any way to fix this?

Fungsten 04-20-2007 07:33 PM

Sounds interesting.

This hack doesnt touch the users online page itself. It only alters the index.php's code.

I'm wondering, is that link up to date? The discussion leads me to believe it may not be.

Maybe you can keep a current version available in this products downloads to avoid confusion.

loonytune15 04-21-2007 03:20 AM

I am running vbBol and I know this is the new version, but i was wondering if there is a way to make the color to show the spiders style specific. eg one color on one style works well , but wont work on another..

The file That Paul has is pretty much the same thing bro. Both mods are using it. I posted one that has a pretty fair amount of additional spiders listed if you want to use that one. But there is nothing going to go wrong with overwriting that file

That thread is dead however but if you search around there are others I pieced them all together to make the list I posted.

You can configure the color under:

admincp -> vbulletin options -> ewt_eusersonline settings

Why is that? Thanks.

popowich 04-21-2007 05:41 PM

Turn off the "show logged out members to admins".

Mine did the same thing. I'm not sure why.

But I didn't use it before either and turned it off again. -- fixed. ;)
