vbbux causing Database error ??

Once in a while, I get a database error in 1 forum, and I have to manually fix it by going to my AdminCP and turning off vbbux, and then turning it back on. After I do that, all is fine and working. Any clues on why this is doing that?

Thanks for any help!

Not if you don't tell us what the error is.....

PinkDaisy 04-18-2007 07:47 PM

I get the Error Number: 1054

Whats the whole error?

I hope you do realise that vBux was removed from this site as it contains vulnerabilities and we strongly advice not to use it.

This is the whole error that I get in emails.

And yeah I realized it was removed here but I thought it was for ppl to not download it anymore. Is there a BIG risk that someone will happen to my forums? Does html enabled on my forums also have anything to do with this??

The way I understand it is that your whole site could potentially be wiped out, or so I read.

Well, you really don't want to have html enabled anywhere on your site as that can help hackers enter your site. Same thing with vbbux, its full of exploits. So its your choice. Do you want to have board hacked? Or take actions to prevent it from being hacked?

PinkDaisy 04-20-2007 04:25 PM

Is it the whole Vbbux/plaza that I have to disable, or just parts of it??

Coux 04-20-2007 04:45 PM

you have a nice site there would be a heartbreak to lose it.. my advice is remove vbux/plasa altogether.. to be safe

deezelpope 04-20-2007 04:48 PM

Once again, I agree with Coux...no, I'm not stalking you! LOL!! He's right, your site is very cute, and that mod, as cool as it may be, just isn't worth taking that chance, IMO.

PinkDaisy 04-20-2007 05:12 PM

Thanks yall. My Members and staff are just hating to see it go away. it's a fun feature for them and they just hate not having it.. One even asked me what would a hacker get from my site, which is true since its a parenting/ttc/pregnancy/ladies community, but I dunno.. I want the site to be 100% or more safe.. so I guess I'm just being pulled.. :(

deezelpope 04-20-2007 05:29 PM

Why don't you look into iCash, iBank, and iShop? That's what I use. It doesn't have all the features of vPlaza, but it's good enough for my members and me. Something to think about. Plus, I really think it will lighten the blow with your members if you have a comparable replacement.

PinkDaisy 04-20-2007 06:07 PM

Thanks. I may look into that to see what all it offers and test it. ;)

deezelpope 04-20-2007 06:12 PM

Well, there's the points system, the bank, and the shop...you can donate points and gifts. But the gifts (items) you have to rustle up on your own, cuz the items Blaine offers are for gamers...but you can use your vPlaza items and ribbons...that's what I'm doing...

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you!

PinkDaisy 04-20-2007 06:28 PM

Thanks so much for your help. I am gonna try to do this on my test VB to see what I can and all. And then put it up for the members.

Thanks again! ;)

You're very welcome! I love your site, and your name here is pretty cute, too!!:)
