One vBSEO License: Existing Site Vs New Site

Hi

I just purchased vBSEO from a friend and now I am unable to decide where to install it.

I have a couple of forums - one is an year old site (link in sig) with a PR4 (domain) and PR3 (forum index) and 6500+ users. Theres no revenue however (yeah, really!) and most of the users are lurkers. I should agree, I have lost interest in running this forum.

My second site is a Harry Potter fan forum (www.harrypottertalk.com) which i just started (officially opening in a couple of days). I hired a guy to run this forum and I won't be actively involved in it.

So now, please help me decide on which forum to install vBSEO.

Add welcome header messages to your old site to increase member activity. Then do the vbseo on your new site.

Here's the guy who makes the mods you want for your forums mate. - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=45618

I already have welcome headers on the old site.

How can you purchase from a friend, its illegal to get it from a source other then vbseo's website itself!

Um. He purchased the license from a friend who is no longer using it. License transfers are most definately allowed.

Yeah, magnus is right.

Thats not a good way for vbseo to get money! :)

Welcome to capitalism. Buyers want cheapest price, sellers want max profit.

The used market is awesome, and vB SEO got paid for their work.

Fair enough, i still wont pay full price for vBSEO when i am fine with Zoints :) Anyways, we should go back on topic :D

sunilvarma 04-12-2007 05:48 AM

Yeah, come on guys, I need more opinions...

Theres a couple of things to consider:

Harry Potter is a popular subject to create a forum on, especially considering there are existing forums out there; Is vBSEO going to be worthwhile when you are going to be competing against existing boards?

If you have lost interest in your previous board, is there any point in putting vBSEO on it?

Chris

Thanks Chris. I've decided to install it on the Harry Potter forum.

I agree, I think you should have saved that money and used it for something else. I know you'd be bummed out if vB release a better SEO on their next version, but since you bought a vBSEO licence you'd have lost out.

technically vB already is good enough in SEO, if you have good content on it. I think Zoints is a good free option if you really want something to use for SEO. Trust me mate, there are TONS of big forums that never used any SEO products and they have over 100-1000 members online at the same time, 24/7..

Clayton 04-18-2007 07:26 PM

me believe

:)

was just wondering whether there were other plugins

I have yet to go towards vbseo however when comments such as

are made then one can only be interested esepcially when the price tag is so good

:p

All I will say is watch out for people that talk about vBSEO. There are a few people who talk about it based off results. Then we have a few people like some mods here, who are affliated with them and will obviously support them, even if they have to "lie" falsely advertise the product. Best suggestion is, pop on vover to vbulletin.com/forum and search vBSEO. Trust me, you'll find tons of threads about vBSEO. A lot of the staff and members comment on it too. I won't say if they are bad or good, because thats for you guys to judge.

Zoints is a horrible option for anyone that wants future stability and vB is no where near good seo out of the box. If I recall correctly no one asked for your opinion on whether or not to use VBSEO. The intent of this thread is where to install it. You are the one trolling VBSEO threads throwing in your worthless .02.
