VBseo?? Anybody using them? Or any other SEO company?
One of my sites, http://greatlakes4x4.com is growing extremely fast, 1.3 years old, close to 500,000 posts now. But I'm having some problems.
I suck at SEO. And the site goes between being google rank 2 and 3 depending on what day I look. My "competitors" websites that are not near as busy seem to appear much higher for most search words. I want every edge possible in the search engines. Are VBSEO and the others a marketing scam, or do they really yield results? :D |
I use VBSEO on all my forums. It is far from a scam. Lots of people have shown good results with it. You will find people who love it and people who hate it. One thing it does is remove all duplicate urls from vBulletin and helps you removed duplicate content issues too. It includes many other SEO tools such as dynamic meta descriptions and linkbacks (similiar to pingbacks on blogs). All in one plugin that takes 5-10 minutes to install and configure.
I'd recommend it. The vBulletin site in my sig uses it. |
I use it on all my sites now. I just installed it on a 3 year old vBulletin site in January and it has cleaned up SERPS for this site in a very short time. If you need Google referrals then vBSEO is worth the investment.
|
If I understand it properly, it changes all the page urls. Will this change the 350,000 or so pages I have the search engines now, and set me back? Or am I stupid for thinking this? Should I expect weeks without seach engine referrals after it is installed?
Its cheap, so if it does what its advertised to do, its worth it. |
The old URLs will still work..
|
Ok, that is what I wanted to hear. I guess I will take the plunge today :D
|
I wouldnt advise buying a vbseo license before the branding free is available. Doesnt worth it.

I like their product, but some of the things that they do make me think of them as not trustworthy.
The two big points I see currently are: 1. Encrypted code. I understand them wanting to protect their IP, but it raises the distrust level. 2. Offer a branding free. The eBay auctions were a real embarassment, IMO. There's no reason IMO they can't just offer it. If they built up some credibility, things like this shouldn't be an issue. I used to be critical of their support as well, but they seem to have come a long way in that regard. |
branding free was not a problem for me. you can choose from 10 different displays of the copyright, 5 linked, and 5 non linked. you can also have your affiliate Id placed in the link, so if anyone clicks it and within the next year purchases vbseo, you will make money. So That didnt bother me.
Also support is fantastic, so I didnt have to worry about any problems that ive had for more then a few hours tops. vbseo has done really well. and it is now gone gold! |
ahhh.... vbseo...tho we are using vbseo been long..
but didnt find any difference before & after...no upgradation of PR...raterr sometime it down w/o vbseo many site is doing too good...... |

If you ever manage to get good backlinks and a good PR then vBSEO helps your sub pages get a better share of that PR. |
I like vBSEO very much and it has even helped with getting my adsense numbers up. It virtually has paid for itself in adsense revenue alone.
Especially if your forum is optimized (like JPiC) for adsense then vBSEO naturally will allow for more links on google, which means more visitors & registered Members, which means more potential for visitors clicking on those adsense links. I think it's a phenomenal piece of software and well worth the purchase price :) Jacquii. |

I wouldn't be surprised at all if a SEO product would soon pop up in Jelsoft's Official vBulletin Add-on Products range.
|
I would, considering they have said they aren't going to do it.
|
I hate to say it, but I'm not to ahppy with it..
#1 Joe Ward spams every forum that talks about vBSEO and basically talks about HOW good it is.. even when people ask him questions, he will never directly answer questions and float off them. #2 It isn't 100% proven that it will help you, I know people who regret buying a vbSEO licence. It didn't do anything at all for them. #3 Why would you pay for a product, rather a 3rd! Party product that costs as much as the actual product it self. I could spend that $149 and get another vBulletin board instead. #4 Why do they have to hide their code? Do you all feel comfortable with that? How do you know what kind of data they access from you? #5 The staff over at vB com also recomend NOT TO BUY vBSEO. Don't believe me? Go there and search in the suggestions forum. They say that it doesn't help your forum too much and that the default SEO is good enough. Tell me, who would know more about the actual software? Some guy who's playing around with words, duping you for your hard earned $149 or people who ACTUALLY created the original software.... If you buy vBSEO, your wasting time, money and your hard earned cash. Get something like Zoints if your REALLY worried.... and Zoints is free too. |

You can tell yourself vBulletin is fine for SEO out of the box but it's not and it has been shown with logic and reasoning that it isn't. I have not wasted my time or money with this product. I own 3 licenses and the software has made running a forum easier while at the same time properly seoing the url structure. Quote:

Not all vBSEO customers are happy... many regret even paying $149.
Logic shows vBSEO helps? where is the proof? It's VERY equal.. many places HAVE improved and mabye HAVEN'T. I'm not saying it doesn't work.. or it does... I'm saying.. are you willing to take a risk over $149 for something that MIGHT work... People are better off taking a chance with Zoints, atleast they have nothing to lose. BTW, the product is falsely advertised.. like I said, there is no 100% proof it helps or not. It works for some and it doesn't for the others. I don't see it being a good risk to take for something that doesn't have a high guarantee. BTW, what happens when TONS of people use vBSEO? We ALL can't have our sites index super well... vBSEO started off great, to many people are bought into the false advertising and buy the product THINKING it works... and for many, it sadly hasn't. Don't waste your money on it folks. Try Zoints out atleast and see how that goes. If it goes well, mabye THEN take a risk for vBSEO if you want. But otherwise, save your cash and either buy another vB with it, or save it for another investment. BTW here is a link of the thread: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=162960 I have a feeling in vB 4.0 we will see all enhancements of vBSEO in it. So the people who haven't bought it, SAVE YOUR MONEY. They will include a better enhanced SEO in the next release. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212607 http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=220761 |

The problem is not that it doesn't work!!!! The problem is that people buy VBSEO and expect it to take their site to number one for all of the keywords they want. They buy it and then don't do the other basics of SEO such as link building and then whine on forums about it doing nothing for their site. That is the problem. Not that it doesn't work. Quote:

Guys,
It's quite clear that people on both sides of this debate are passionate about their stance. Because of this, please keep the debate civil so this thread doesn't get closed. Thanks in advance. :) |
149 bucks can get you another vB license.
and then you'll have 2 empty forums. :) SEO can only take you so far. If your content sucks, no one is searching for it, you can have the best SEO'd site in the wrold, but still no traffic. You're missing the larger picture of what SEO is. its about optimizing the CONTENT and the links is just a small part of it. So again, if you don't have content, don't expect results. Zoints SEO is not SEO. it should be called "Zoints mod_rewrite" as that is all it does. In fact, Dchapman, founder of zoints, is a member of vbseo. does that not tell you something? vB has already stated it won't do mod-rewrite, as it is designed to run on windows as well. even if they release a version of it, i doubt it will touch on 10% of what vbseo has built into it. I'm not going to argue with you on this. If you don't want it- fine. In fact, i hope you DONT buy it. That way, i can continue to own you on all your queries and get your intended traffic to my board and to click my ads and make me money :) I actually just posted a new review. It's been 9 months since i installed vbseo on my first forum. http://www.vbseo.com/f84/9-months-si...all-13027-new/ I now own 5 licenses as its proved itself to me time and time again. |

BTW you don't have to argue, people can easily view the thread at vb's forums and learn for themselves, how vBSEO is a waste of money. It's all a marketing gimmick, they make money off us for being stupid and buying into their product. As for BamaStinkGuy, obviously you'd support vbSEO, your making money off people. You basically impress a person on how vBSEO is sooo good and fool the person into buying it, yet they don't know your refer of them gives you a free vBSEO licence. Like I said, vBSEO isn't proven to work and heck for some people it doesn;t. Think about it, what happens when tons of people use vBSEO? then wut? not ALL of us will get indexed and we have wasted money on a product TONS of people bought because some guy made something up and made it sound good. I don't need to say anything, search on google and vbulletin.com about the cons of the product and you will see the TRUTH behide the product. If you guys bought it, you guys are slow in the head. You just lost out on over $149 spent on those licence. Wait till your jaws drop down, when vB releases something quite similar. Then that money will have gone down the drain and you'll be stuck with useless products. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212607 If you don't believe me check the following links at vB. Do your research folks, don't become blind and stupid like these fella's. I don't blame them, they were blinded with false advertisements. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=220761 |

Before I bought vBSEO, my site only had very minimal pages indexed in Google. My homepage was a PR4 and everything else was 0. I was only making at most $5 a day with my ad units. ONCE I installed vBSEO, I earned $20+ the first FULL day I had it installed (using their targeted ad feature). It paid for itself the FIRST WEEK I had it, then paid for my hosting the second week, and straight profit the last ~2 weeks. In my eyes, you are the one blinded...how can you go wrong with profit like that?! Also, I have quite a few good PR pages, still at PR4 on my homepage since I haven't done much link building in the past 9 months but hey...getting much more traffic than I've ever gotten...most of my traffic comes from google; before I had it installed, NO traffic was from google. I had less than 10 pages indexed in google, now I have 121,000+ indexed. In the past 2 months or so, my Alexa traffic rank has increased by nearly 300,000 to where I'm in the top 50,000 sites!!! In another month or so, Was it vBSEO that did it? Who knows, but the results I saw RIGHT AFTER I installed it leads me to believe it was. I didn't have it on my site for roughly a year so I know how the site was doing without it. I didn't change much of my content after I installed it either... But hey, I'll keep bringing in my profits that I believe (you can believe what you want) is from the help of vBSEO. I've seen what it did with my site FIRST HAND nearly right away. All my "competition" sites do not run vBSEO and are running vBulletin software, all of us have nearly the same content, and we all run our sites nearly the same (they advertise more though), yet I've got nearly 30,000 members, when they are around 11,000 (when they started their site before I did). I have around 200 more people on my site at any time than they do. Believe what you want but I believe my numbers speak for themselves. |

Like I said, there is no 100% proof it works at all and for the price your paying, it's just absolutely rediculious... I've never seen a 3rd party plugin for more then the actual product. Along with that I've seen people like Joe Ward try to falsey advertise their products. So research before buying and if you want to waste money, go right ahead. But if you can wait, I'd wait for vB 4. I know the guys over there will have something implemented, just because there has been much talk about it. Quote:

I don't work for VBSEO. Pre-Release simply means I test the software before it is released to the public. There is no payment involved. Sorry to thwart another one of your conspiracy theories. Keep on posting though. You keep making yourself look better and better.

If you read their threads, they are looking into it and they are aware members want this type of feature. It's only a matter of time before the vB team applys it. If they do, you guys basically wasted $149 on vBSEO.
As for the prerelease team... same thing. If you don't support them your going to get kicked off the team. I've seen a few of you guys at other forums, posting the same crap about how good vBSEO is, untill we go onto vbSEO and find out you all are somehow affliated with vBSEO. People don't have to read my text here, they can look around for themselves. I'm not the only that thinks vBSEO is a waste of money. Go to many of the top big name forums, tons of people will agree. I've noticed the ones that ARE with vBSEO, tend to somehow be affliated with them. EDIT: as I cans ee on your sites, you basically promote their product everywhere, hoping some dumb user will click on it, buy it and get you a free vBSEO as well. It's people like you that mislead others. I'd like to see your look when you realise all that money you stole and used on vBSEO comes to a waste, when vB develops something that's included in the actual price. |

I find myself neutral in these discussions. While I agree that it's impossible to 100% prove that vBSEO works, after installing it I did notice improvements in my search engine rankings and referrals. I don't like the way they do business, but I have nothing against the product. However, I think most of your points have been silly, and that's why you notice (in this thread) that everyone is disagreeing with you and the name calling has begun. Even if people promote vBSEO here, they will not receive affiliate sales from it. I haven't seen anyone in this thread say "PS, if you buy it, use this affiliate link!". They are trying to help, and are advising based on their results. There is nothing wrong with that. You know, that was the whole point of this thread. |
I'm just warning users for the future. If you want to go ahead and buy it, sure go right ahead. Just don't cry about it after, when you realize the money you spent didn't benefit you. BTW, you can't get a refund, I've talked to JWard and he basically said, too bad. If it doesn't work for you, it's not my fault.
I don't mind him spaming topics about the product, but when a users ASKS for the downside of it and he comes in saying buy it! look! it bought ONE guy a BMW.. it;s the greatest product in the world.. that just wrecks it. I mean come on, the guy is asking people for the downside of the product, before he wants to buy it and you have guys like Jward spaming it. The way you have to look at it is, HOW much will it effect your forum by. If it does just a little bit of help, then whats the point? WOW!! one guy made enough for a BMW, I don't see others with a new car? Heck, how do we know he even made that much? There is no way he cna prove it. That is the problem with the product, there is no guarantee if it will work or not. If there was a guarantee, people would buy it for sure. Also, what happens when almost every board uses vBSEO? We all can't be the top rated sites on google... SO what are you saying? buy vBSEO and we will ALL be the top guys on google? Just because one guy profitted off this product doesn't mean EVERYONE will.. and at the price vBSEO is at, I doubt many people get a chance to try it.. or want to try it. Heck, I don't think any other 3rd party product even costs as much as vBSEO. Also, I don't really need to say anything else. If members view the links I posted above that lead the vbulletin.com, they can read comments by ALL staff and many "non" affliated vBSEO people. |
Another closed vBSEO related thread... sigh. :(
