Where to buy a cheap domain?
 

I need somewhere where I can buy .com or co.uk for pref £5 or under $10 and that will accept unverfied paypal. When I tried godaddy it says I have to add credit card to my account.

sunilvarma I bought a domain from name.com it's been registered, do I have to wait for it to be propagated? Also do I need to do anything else except change the nameservers to my current host? Thanks.

I have bought several domains from www.namecheap.com, all for $8.88 - They seem to be pretty good, I've certainly never had any problems with them :)

You only need to change your nameservers and it takes around 24hrs to propagate.

I have been using http://www.domainsite.com/ since 2004 and they are great. I only pay $6.99 usd and they accept paypal.

I've got 2 domains with them. No problems at all.

Actually as of last year, propagation should take place within a few hours. Whenever I get a new domain it takes about an hour. I usually go through NameCheap.

So how do I know if it's propagated? It's been 3 days already.

you bought it, but did you activate/host it somewhere ?!

it can't activate 'til you have a name-server!

You need to have hosting and find out what your Nameservers are. Usually it's ns1.yourhostsdomain.com and ns2.yourhostsdomain.com but it could be different. Then go to Name.com and edit the associated fields.

I use namecheap, not sure about unverified but! You know, its to your benifit to get verified.

I added both the nameservers 76+ hours ago :(.

Has your host created your hosting account? It seems not, as it has propagated.

I only own about 5, i pay other people in countrys who like computers when i need help, however they dont have paypal so i purchase things for them!

I sorted it now. My host didn't switch the main domains -.-.

If you really want to go cheap you can't beat a .info domain from godaddy:

At namecheap, with some googling i belive you can get .info domains for 1$ and .com, .net and them type for a buck or two cheaper. Also you get free WHOIS guard with EVERY domain you purchase! Try whois my site :)
