VB not letting school email addresses register
 

is there a way i can slove this problem. people with school email addys are not allowed to register on VB. VB doesnt recognize the email addys as legit emails. what can i do? besides turning off email confirmations?

What is the format of such an email address?

Valid email address are always in the notation: name@domain.tld

Some of the email addresses are name@domain.state.edu can you please let me know how can i fix this. i am losing members because they can not register. or some addresses are name@domain.edu

Hmmm, I have registered members with .edu addresses. Do you have anything else installed or modified which may be the cause of this? Oh and I require e-mail confirmation on my board.

i dont see what would be the cause of this, only thing i do have installed is the PM welcome message hack which needs confirmation email to be enabled, but thats it involving emails.

i have no idea why this is happening.

AdminCP -> vBulletin Options -> User Banning Options -> Banned Email Addresses

i dont have any in there

To troubleshoot this, please remove any hacks and disable your plugins, then see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

If so, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

If that does not solve your problem, open a Support Ticket at members.vbulletin.com
