Steam IM Card Hack
This mini mod, simply add the ability of having for each user of your board to enter their Steam ID (link) like the MSN, ICQ, AOL, Yahoo and Skype Messenger contact cards.

This hack also integrate itself into the ACP User editor and the User Control Panel when its enabled

The reason I released it here is because I found it useful on another board Im member of and wanted to share it as their may be other who would like to use it ;)


Installation
Installation and uninstallation notes can be found inside the ZIP in the file named "Read Me.txt", including template edits

My only suggestion is to change the words "Steam ID" to "Steam Friends" because SteamID is something entirely different.

That was what I first did, but I didn't think it sounded correctly. However I might update it in the next update I release (:

in order to change from "Steam ID" to "Steam Friends" -> go to admincp -> lang & phrases -> search phrases -> search for "Steam ID" without quotes , then edit the phrase with whatever you want to see.

also, i was having a problem displaying the icon, so i searched in templates for im_steam and edited Template Instant messaging templates -> im_steam -> i changed <img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/im_steam.gif" to <img src="/images/misc/im_steam.gif"

then it worked

and what if they change their steam friends name? is there a way to do it by SteamID, so that no matter what they change their steam friends ID to, it'll work?

I think I found a bug.

For some reason is doesnt like my steam id which is latin_racer.

I'm thinking its related to using the underscore. Any ideas?

Try using your steam email!

One more thing...

when a user clicks on the steam image and selects add ****** it will redirect them to that user profile. It wont add the steam id to the friends list.

I just can't get it to work properly.

The Steam ID field appears in admin CP, but not anywhere else.

installed just now, same thing for my archive.

I also have the issue with _ or . in the steam ids

It also just redirects back to the users profile page when clicking on "add xxxx to your Steam friends list"

ok installed.. but I'm getting an error in vbAdvanced with this...

"Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in /global.php(40) : eval()'d code on line 2".

If I disable the plugin everything goes back to normal... any ideas?

The memberinfo template is changed so much that nothing is found as it was anymore
