Is there any interst in a VB->Joomla intragration?
Hello, i am currently developing a hack to joomla, that will allow VB users ( from the VB database ) to be logged into Joomla, i am curious how much interst this community has in a modification like this? I have already developed a working version that i am currently Alpha testing, when im finished with my private alpha test i will be looking for aprox. 5 currently open VB forums to beta test this software on. I am hoping to enter Beta phase by the end of the month. But for the most part i am just curious about the communitys interst in this and what options or special features you guys would like to see in it.

This sounds great. Post some screenshots, and live demos when you get a chance.
Only if it is a free modification of course. |
Yeah..i am way too interested in it. I am using vBridge right now...
|
I thought there was already such a thing, check out the joomla forums...
|
I am looking for it too.
I found such limited support for an existing bridge on the Joomla forums to the point where I've shut down the Joomla part of of my site and will revisit it later. If there was something as simple out there as the SMF-Joomla bridge (which took me 10 minutes to completely install and have running!) for vBulletin, I would be all over it in a heartbeat so I could use virtuemart. heh. |
I'm interested too.
|
I'd be interested for sure.

I've been using BBPixel for my highly modded Joomla!+vB site and have no issues with it. What, exactly, would make your hack different/better?
|
bbpixel's mod is the perfect integration. One product, overwrite some joomla files and both vb and joomla share same login, same sessions. It only cost 20.00
|
It's a good hack but i and other owners asked them to put the user avatar on login module into joomla end they said that at the end of month they will release a new version and include the avatar intologin module... they said this on december but we're still waiting for it..

Would love Joomla 1.0.12 to vB 3.6.x bridge:up: |
I would very much like to see this come out. BBpixel has many mixed emotions attached to it as it modifies files which hinder updates and has a lot of people getting errors.
And the elearning force one costs $60 and lacks a lot of features that the bbpixel does. I'd settle for pretty much any decent bridge for the latest Joomla and vB versions so I can have them register on the Joomla homepage and it auto creates their vB account also so its 1 time registration and 1 login. If ANYONE knows of one that works please let me know, the cheaper the better lol. Funds are a little low after hosting and vB license lol. |
I am searching for such a thing now, so yes! I am interested.
I searched for vbulletin joomla :) |
joomla -> community builder -> vBulletin
And we would be super happy. How can stuff that's so commonly used not be supported yet? lol |
And how is gooing on? Any beta out? Would like to test it with my forum.
|
Just adding my support, for whatever it's worth. Unlike others, I would be willing to pay a nominal (up to $20) fee. I know it's not a lot of money, but it would add up, I don't think a developer should have to work for zero pay. Maybe you could do like MadebyMary.com does, have a free version and a pay version. Have the free version bridge to Joomla... have the pay version bridge to CB ;) but the key is, keep the fee small. It will add up quickly.
JMO!! :) :D Bailey |
