Sorry. I'm a newbie!

No worries, did it end up working for you?
|
:(

I just re-edited it, and tested. Works now. I wasnt able to test myself before because my MPlayer plug-ins were acting funny, and there was something wrong. Now it works on my forum after reinstalling the code, and updating my MPlayer browser plug ins.
|
:D ;)

Is this going to create security vulnerabilities?

Anyways, is it possible to have members upload wmv files as an attachment and play them?
|
Quote:
No with this code I do not think attachments will work. The only way to do that would be to allow them to upload files to your server, and then put the link with teh proper extension in between the BB codes. |
Does this work with FireFox? It works fine for me in Internet Explorer, but it won't show up in FireFox. I'm using the WMV code, BTW.
|
WMV Works for me in Firefox.... but I can't get it not to autostart in Firefox. Has anyone else experienced this?
Works fine in IE. Thanks |
not working for me!!!
|
Neat.
Could someone explain how I go about installing this? Thanks... |
In the ACP there should be a custom BB Codes section. That's where you would input this information.
|
what should I enter as the URL? In other words, in the ACP - Custom BB Codes - New, when it says:

Thanks. |
You can enter in whatever you want. If you input a url to a image it will show up in your editor. I didn't include a button because I didn't need one.
|
Thanks for that, have installed, I want to use it mainly to embed very small sound clips. Is it possible to reduce the display to the controls only, as I don't need the screen?
|
Change...
Code:
width="320" height="285" |

Thanks, that worked in firefox, but still shows the screen in IE6 as soon as you press play. Sorry for the delay in coming back to you. :) As per another poster, with firefox the sound clip auto starts, is there any way around this? |
Is there any place to get it? Thanks.
|
da420,
You have for the example: [rpv]http://www.homelandabsurdity.com/audio-video/beefheart_tribute.rm[/prv] The tags should be [rmv]!! Now it works for Real Player!! :D  On Edit. Make sure your other Players are updated too! |

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but you add the code posted above in the replacement.
|
So instead of the Replacement code this shows up.

I just checked and the code in my initial post worked for me. I would suggest deleting that BB Code, and reimplementing it making sure you do everything right..
|
I've already done that but I'll do it again.

I made a boo boo! I had enabled "Use Options". Now it works! Sorry. On Edit again: In the instructions I would really add a note next to the "NO" for options. |
Ah, yeah, that's why I stressed the NO with capital letters... glad you got it working...
|
Anyways it's working.

I tried changing the width and height but the video still shows up in the same small size, is there something im doing wrong?
|
Nice stuff. You have the .swf or 'Flash Media' option, which potentially has risks, etc. However, I don't think that .flv (Flash Video) has the same risk level. Is it possible to convert one of these to a .flv embed option?
Thanks |
thank you !!
installed. :) |
Hello,
This code is great and implemented on my site. However, is there anyway I can only let registered users view the movies? At the moment everyone including guests can see the movies. I would like to stop guests from being able to see the clips... Any pointers would be helpful! :) |
