Help Finding This Error

Hi folks, every once in a while I get some e-mails that there have been some database errors. Here is an example. They all look like the message below. Could someone help me look into this and a possible solution please. I have 3 plug ins in use. They are Add On Chat 1.1.0, Guest Tracking 1.13 and Separate Sticky and Normal Threads 1.0.5. Thank you.

Does your MySQL user (set in config.php) have create permissions?

Kirk Y 01-14-2007 02:42 AM

Yeah, errno 13 is -- I believe -- a write permissions error.

Philster 01-14-2007 03:44 AM

I have to appolgize, I cannot see MySQL user in my config.php file. Is there a particular string of text I should be looking for ? Thank you for your quick reply.

Phil.

Hi gang, could one of you post exactly what this MySQL user string will look like in my config.php file ? I'd sure like to track this down. Thank you.

Code:

If MySQL reports an error number 1005 from a CREATE TABLE statement, and the error message refers to errno 150, table creation failed because a foreign key constraint was not correctly formed
Also check your disk space. Only two things I can think of

Thanks Paul 41598. Please do not take this the wrong way but could you explain this in laymans terms please. Thank you.

What hes saying is that your Database(s) might be pushing the limit of your hosting storage...if for example you had a 100MB limit and the table your trying to put you at 101MB, it wouldn't allow you to create the table your asking it to :)

Thank you, now that I can fully understand :) My limit is 500MB file space and I'm only using 65MB, 25MB of which is our forums database. I presume this would not apply to my issue then. Any other thoughts? Thank you for your reply.

No, that's file space. This is MySQL space. Don't know if your host limits MySQL space so I can't be sure.

Philster 01-23-2007 04:42 PM

ISP advises me the MySQL database limit is currently at 70MB and our database is at 25MB. They have increased my database to 100MB and upped my basic sites storage just as a precaution for N/C. So having a 75MB buffer should eliminate this as a potential cause. Any other suggestions ? Thanks.

Phil.
