New Style vs Old Style

In all the threads there seemed to have arguments back and forth

old for now until i get use to the new layout

MRGTB 01-08-2007 12:41 AM

I like the new style, its a lot better. And the way the site navigation has been altered is now much easier

TTG 01-08-2007 12:41 AM

Would prefer an option fluid instead of fixed width .. I personally hate fixed.

User Options -> Default Style Width -> Select "Yes, switch me to a wider layout."

Smoothie 01-08-2007 12:47 AM

There's something posted over at vb.com that allows a choice for postbit or postbit legacy. It was posted for 3.5 (I think), but it is supposedly good to go on the latest version. Sorry, no link.

I remember seeing that on vb.org as well...

They might tell you to go to vB.org lol

Darat 01-08-2007 06:03 AM

I prefer the new style, my only negative (so far!) is the colour of the quick reply box, the sandy colour is too obtrusive, oh sorry I do have another one: postbit legacy templates should be altered to force signatures to the bottom, it results in a much neater look!

But overall really do like the new style especially the new header, breadcrumb and navbar navigation.

Allan 01-08-2007 06:28 AM

I don't like the new style, very not usual, (old button, old colors ....vB 3.0.0 ??)

I vote for the old style .....

PennylessZ28 01-08-2007 06:33 AM

I like the new style, but I have 3 complaints.

The TABS are STUPID looking.

the search is crap and I can't get to the advanced search easily anymore!

and 3rd, the PM notification area is super tiny. What a load of crap.

DementedMindz 01-08-2007 06:41 AM

I prefer the new style, seems like its loading much faster too.

agitated 01-08-2007 06:58 AM

A refreshing change. How about allowing the choice of fixed and fluid.

My only gripe, don't like the fixed style, too narrow.

Seconded. But like the changes.

Lars-Christian 01-08-2007 07:31 AM

For advanced search just click the black arrow next to search. And as has been pointed out already there is an option between fixed and fluid width. Read!

I like the new style, it's fine, once I switched to fluid and legacy postbit at least ;) I think the icons are crap though. Crap I say!

Is this new a style a move towards something closer to the default style, since you are the official vBulletin source for mods and such?

Edit: Also, the postbit is a bit annoying, seeing how there is no link back to forumhome!

SaN-DeeP 01-08-2007 08:52 AM

The "Forums" tab at the top right is a link back to forumhome (or click on "vbulletin mods" top left).

agitated 01-08-2007 10:17 AM

Doh!! never thought to check my User CP. Changed to fluid, much better.
Nice work Princeton .

evenmonkeys 01-08-2007 10:18 AM

I don't really have a favorite. Don't really pay attention to the layouts when I come here. In any case, they did a fine job on the layout. Very well done.

Giray 01-08-2007 10:48 AM

Modern, similar enough to the default to remain familiar. Nice. I like it. :)

Luky 01-08-2007 11:28 AM

Old style. Dont like the colours on the new one.

itsid 01-08-2007 11:40 AM

well hit the "old style" option.

I don't like fixed styles very much...

make this one a fullscreen and I'll be fine ;)

'sid

[EDIT]
found the checkbox in my usercp... fluid.. perfect ...
If I only could change to postbit_legacy too... :D

Mr Pink 01-08-2007 12:01 PM

Old styles, sure. http://www.web-city.it/forum/images/...s/brumbrum.gif
However, it isn't a bad job.

thx but this seems be for 3.5.x

Shazz 01-08-2007 02:57 PM

It was 25-20 New style now the new style just blew it off...

Andrew 01-08-2007 03:22 PM

I'm not a fan of bright styles, so I prefer the old dark blue style still.

AuroraStorm 01-08-2007 03:41 PM

I voted for the old style...this one will take some time to get used to but the thing I don't like about it is I had to search all over East Jesus to find certain things...I still can't find the template updates for the ibProArcade...

Oh well...change takes some getting used to and this too shall pass...
