Thread Compose Time

Description:
This product will determine the time taken to create a thread. It then shows that amount on the postbit. It does not (and can not) calculate the time taken to create threads prior to the hack being installed, in this case nothing is shown.

[installed].... this will actually come in handy!

thankyou for your time and work.

abramelin 01-05-2007 10:31 AM

i was looking for a mod like this! thank you very much. if you can add a feature that calculates the thread times per user and shows a list of users who have much time (like top 10 compose timers) it would be awesome

Bad Bunny 01-05-2007 01:30 PM

When I ran a rp forum, this would have been great.

dj_melayu 01-05-2007 02:29 PM

On the step2 it says :

Quote:

Find:

<hr size="1" style="color:$stylevar[tborder_bgcolor]" />

Replace With:

<!-- Start Thread Compose Time Hack -->
<if condition="$threadcompose != 1">
<hr size="1" style="color:$stylevar[tborder_bgcolor]" />
</if>
<!-- End Thread Compose Time Hack -->
I found 2

Quote:

<hr size="1" style="color:$stylevar[tborder_bgcolor]" />
the one above
Quote:

<!-- / icon and title -->
And another one is below

<!-- edit note -->
Which one is correct ? :) Thanks

Thanks!

abramelin 01-05-2007 03:24 PM

why dont you use phrases for "seconds, minutes" how can we change those to our language now? and can you add this feature too posts too?

Distance 01-05-2007 03:56 PM

Yeah how about the post above saying prob with instructions

im also guessing when new thread is pressed again the timer restarts?

abramelin 01-05-2007 04:09 PM

and if you edit the thread it should continue from the existing time i think :)

Brew 01-05-2007 05:51 PM

IS there a way you can have the option to show this on the loading screen after posting instead of within the thread?

Artificial_Alex 01-05-2007 08:52 PM

Verygood hack. :D -Installed.

The following error occurred when attempting to evaluate this template:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING in /home/gaminggu/public_html/includes/adminfunctions_template.php(3596) : eval()'d code on line 208

This is likely caused by a malformed conditional statement. It is highly recommended that you fix this error before continuing, but you may continue as-is if you wish.

You can change it in the plugin "Retrieve Time". Should be easy to find.

Are you sure you applied the edit exactly? I tried my hack on a fresh vBulletin 3.6.4 installation with no problems.

A timer starts when new thread is clicked and stops when the user presses "Submit Thread".

After making a post on the redirect page, if it's enabled, have a short thing about how long it took.

ie: "It took you 65 seconds to create your post!"

Dismounted 01-11-2007 07:24 AM

Hack Updated!

11/01/2007 - Version 1.1
- Fixed 'Undeclared Object' Error
- Added Options To Enable/Disable
- Added Popup With Time Taken On First View By Thread Author

Distance 01-16-2007 05:47 PM

Hey what about when you edit it it adds to timer

Dismounted 01-17-2007 02:30 AM

I'm not guaranteeing anything, but I'll have a look at it.

rjmjr69 02-07-2007 06:21 AM

So does it always display a pop up when you post a thread? Do you have to click ok to get the page to finish refreshing?

Dismounted 02-07-2007 07:09 AM

The popup is not a normal 'Javascript Alert' it is a HTML-coded 'box'. It shows when the thread is created.
