vBulletin video addon with video hosting ?

Does anyone know a good way of having a full video vBulletin section ? Is there any paid hack or something ? Please reply.

i am interested in something like this as well. basically how there is photopost / photo gallery addons for vbulletin, to have some type of system where users can upload their own video using a flash ecoded player like youtube, revver, etc.

anything like this out there?

i have a forum community of almost 17,000 members that would DIE to have such an option :)

2 *worthwhile* solutions that I know of:

FlickScript: http://www.buildrevenues.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2

Clip Share: http://www.clip-share.com/

Clip-share has some very specific server requirements. You'll pretty much need a dedicated server or be in pretty tight with your hosting provider.

FlickScript gets around this by implementing a paid token system to encode uploaded files. It currently can't be installed into a sub-directory w/o some major modification.

Neither currently are integrated with vB but I'm sure with some effort (and $$) it could be accomplished.

Cheers,

regs..

thanks for the links. i've read up on clipshare before. great solution. but i was hoping there was something done that integrates the vB memberbase and info like photopost, etc.

no mod/addon hack like this yet?

t3nt3tion 12-29-2006 01:46 PM

Darn, and I need something...probably will have to pay someone to make a bridge...

the clip-share is really sux .. first of all, i bought the script.. the fk they do is .. put their ads on your screen to advertise their shit software .. which i normally charge my customer $400/month for such advertisement.. they get for free and i have to pay to do that? wtf .. second, they don't answer email.. maybe one man band .. third..their link don't work.. and when you email support, they don't give a shit.. maybe that's why they selling the installation service .. so whoever buying it .. beware ...

t3nt3tion 01-25-2007 08:25 AM

http://www.clip-share.com/ is actually a clone of the available youtube clone, that everyone can get on the internet, so spending 100 $ is crazy, when you can get the identical script for FREE. clip-share doesn`t have a registered trademark on it, and I installed a youtube clone, compared it with the available demo on their site, and guess what : IT`S IDENTICAL( everything except the css file which they changed a bit). I`ll be making a paid mod soon, to bridge vb and another product, so users will be able to host videos :D

Regards

xadoa 01-25-2007 04:08 PM

yeah.. don't buy clip-share .. they sux.. i bought it.. they never answer your ticket.. your question.. they just bsing around saying they do and fixed but nothing done

i'm waiting for your mod ..

willing to pay..

t3nt3tion 01-25-2007 04:10 PM

The bridge is being built, I want to refresh the graphics of the mod, and I`ll post here when it`s released. :)

It might be expensive, but they don't require you to keep the "advertising" as you call it. Simple template edits are all that are required to remove all traces of "clipshare" save for the one icon in the flv player. In fact the opposite is true in that the program has an admin interface for you to add your own advertiser such as those people who sponsor your forums. And you do NOT need a dedicated server (obviously that would be the preferred thing to do) all you need is to make sure your server has the correct plugins, which are commonly availiable for free. The people wh have problems with Clipshare are the same kind who have problems with Vbulletin- they jump in too fast and don;t follow simple instructions and then make posts saying "my program won't work! Help!"
You do have to pay them to put your own icon in the flv player.

Also, if you already have Photopost Integration worling, your members can upload video files if you enable them. It's not the best solution but it is an option.

It would be nice for someone to post some links to the freeware Youtube clone, as clipshare seems to have a lot of "affiliates" that get listed on a google search...

what do you call instruction ??? .. u tell people to do one thing, but not the other thing, most of people can't finish what they do if they followed the instruction that you guy put out .. when people post their instruction on your board, more likely will get banned. that's sux as ever. for example. you guy tell people to install lame, ffmpeg, but u guy don't tell people to install together as an integrated one and what the docs is more explicitly installing as 2 different programs and let people having trouble and ask them to buy installing service.. and just telling people that they installed their module wrong even u didn't even know what they did, people don't install those modules wrong u guy telling the wrong thing..trying to get $25 out of their pocket, maybe put a backdoor on their system too who knows.. one thing to guys out there thinking of this product above, don't buy it.. it just sux, the support even sux... u may wait 2 days for a ticket to reply if u yelling at them.. lol..and u will get the answer, "u installed the module wrong" even they don't even know what u did ...

about the template? u don't call that a template.. if it's a template u can just remove it.. here u need to pay $50 to remove it.. wtf .. u don't call that's an ads? what do u call it ?? i don't call putting something else on, i am talking about putting nothing .. don't leading the wrong idea here .. so people!! just don't buy it.. i am frustrated, then u do too ... if those guy there know stuff then they are just plain lamed.. otherwise they just sux... the guy who founded the script didn't even understand the directory structure of the software compilation.. i don't know what he did in people's system .. weird .. so watch out !!

XD

There is a free script called PHPMotion.
http://www.phpmotion.com
but one of the requirements is FFMpeg and not alot of shared hosting support FFMpeg.
It looks easy enough to bridge if someone had the php experience.

pgowder 11-08-2007 07:13 PM

I know have ClipShare and vBulletin integrated!

http://tv.powwows.com

And you can read how this was done here:

puregraf 12-17-2007 08:12 PM

^ yea well $200 is too much money

RobDog888 12-17-2007 09:41 PM

Seems like alot of trouble to have it split between the two dbs and use cs?

I've almost finished mine, its up and running with 100% vB and only 3 very minor edits and the rest addditional new templates and files. Couple of bugs to iron out still but no reliance upon any other site. :D

Come on... 200$ ... be serious ...

QsKGlobal.com 12-30-2007 10:56 PM

I still have vBTube v1.2.6 before the creator took it off. It integrates YouTube and vBulletin. The guy is currently making it a third party paid mod. Their site is http://www.vBTube.com

You can make vBTube into a video gallery using playlists on YouTube. I'll post an example of it when I install it on my site in a bit.

t3nt3tion 12-30-2007 11:11 PM

From what I can see, that site uses phpbb now, and it`s redirected to a different domain.

As you can see from the lack of other people doing this type of script, $200 if a pretty fair price!

In every thread I've read about this, it just looks like you are trying to defend yourself. 200$ is a pathetic price for such a thing, it really is.

CarlitoBrigante 08-22-2008 08:04 PM

Hello, we are the developers of the "thing", and while I do not want to advertise anything, I am forced to reply because you do not know the amount of features this remote integration (meaning it integrates different softwares located in different servers) system has, the kind of support users receive for it, and the kind of script this script has to work with.

Just to speak of the last point that is the only one that won't sound as self-promotion, ClipShare 2.6 (they are now at 4.0), for which this code was written, was far from being a clean script. Very far from it. Our first version included security fixes in the package that saved a lot of users from being hacked.

Supporting this integration when at least one of the integrated scripts is not well-coded enough means hours of weekly work. The $200 include installation of the system, which can take 1-2 hours, plus 1-2 more hours for the batch importer, depending on forum size.

Please do not judge just from the outside, without knowing things.

Then write your own!

The money I spent with this developer has been great! They are by far the best coders I've worked with.

what about www.vbyes.com

rdavm 05-10-2011 12:34 AM

Is it possible to get clipshare to work on IIS7?? I have clipshare 4.5 pro but so hard to get to work.
Any one here who knows what to do?
Its kinda important for me to get a server up working with clipshare or any otter working utube clone because our launch/"premiere" opening is 1 June 2011.
I have a 12000$ server already with lotz of TB HDD space and super fast fiberoptic line so its a waste to not have a youtube clone spesical when utube bugs me about copyrights on important wakeupcall videos who is a must for all to see!
Would bee so cool to have own to get ridd of the 15 min long marker limitation :) Any interested to help? I even pay someone but max about 200USD a month for development of someting working "Vbulletin Motion" with a style to that has all the frames same as utube.
And I pay for someone to help me get my server up going too, ISS7 or on linux, as long I get it work I dont care :)
