Willing To Share MY Custom CMS
I have a custom CMS that is totally vbulletin compliant and uses vbulletin templates.
I paid heavly to have this developed for 3.0.7, then an upgrade to 3.5.* and I upgraded it myself to 3.6.4. It works with a custom template but could easluy be modified to work with any template that can be placed in the template system I am willing to share this with the vbulletin community. With improvements, it could be expanded My home page is sportsrant.com If anyone is interested in using this system or helping me increase the CMS in anyway, I will give you the engine to work on free of charge Thanks, Mike Sportsrant.com Here are some of the features: -CMS compatibility and features: -Works with VBSEO -Can create external pages based on forums and Forum id's . http://www.sportsrant.com/blame-players-a37638.html is the same as . http://www.sportsrant.com/forums/t37...e-players.html (look at -truncated text and link to full article) -Has full printable version -Works with vbulletin Poll System -Random Article -Has own archive system > http://www.sportsrant.com/archive -Modified vbgallery/photopost gallery (must have license) -Search uses vbulletin search which returns forum results -Login is vbulletin login -Uses vbulletin phrases and <if></if> statments -uses Mod_Rewrite -Can Submit news which truncates post in "news forum" for SEO purposes -Modified to work with all vbulletin hacks -has link addition areas -admincp control area |
Brilliant!
I actually use VBSEO. Couple questions:
I would love to be the first one. webmaster@ny-dev.com Thank you! |

1) yes I will include the navigation but it would need to be adapted to your style 2) I will provide as much as I can 3) My vbgallery is hacked to the hilt, hope that makes sense! I can try and answer that better than that if that does not make sense What I did was have a template made and then the orignal developer modified the CMS to work around that So an example of how to implement this CMS would be: 1) someone purchases a skin from template monster and then we modify the CSS and vb_news (template name for this system) so it works with your skin/template Make sense? |

Well I had my "theme" for my home page designed, a custom template. The example I am trying to provide is showing you is one way to implement this. It is not an "out of the box" CMS > like vbadvanced!
What I am saying is that You can create this cms to work around a template or theme you already have Does that make sense? Sorry if I am making you confused ( i do this to myself all the time) |
Looks interesting .. would love to play around with it :)
|
Not sure I really know how to go about getting this started, lol
Maybe someone could help me package this into some type of installer? Maybe that is what I need to do! Ideas? |
I am very interested in this.
|
I will create a zip file with all the important files, templates and etc...
I will need a few days to accomplish this! I am also looking for any coders/developers that maybe interested in taking this over as a project to add/change/improve this. If done correctly, i believe that it could be quite amazing for vbulletin in general |
Looks good!

Listen I need some help with this.
I need someone that is familiar with vb to help me create an install package of export all the correct templates and hooks! I can get all the necessary files for this and am willing to let someone in to my admin area to help me get this done so I can test this on a new/test install of vb!! Anyone willing to help me get this done, please email or PM me! Thanks, Mike |
I would love to beta test it and get a copy. :) Looks nice.
|
Unless I get a developer to help me create some sort of install package with an XML product, I am not sure how I can get all the correct templates and edits
I know that I can get the actual scripts, that is easy, but I will need some help before I can continue Sorry for any trouble this may cuase |
Also quite willing to do the beta test thing :)
From the looks of this if it's done right it'll solve a lot of people's problems. Give me a yell. |
Looks interesting
I am very interested ;) |
Looks good judging by the main page of your site :)
How can I get this CMS? |
I believe you will need to wait for him to release it.
|
Sorry for the delay in updates. This is being worked on over at vbmodder.com. Codemonkey is looking into the code to see how it can be released as a package and with a generic template. I will update this thread when there is something more to report
|
Cool msimonds, subscribed to your thread :)
Gud luck! |
love the navigation!
Its the bomb! |
awesome...thanks.
|
any news on the dev?
been looking forward to this for a while now |
waiting for this CMS to be released
|
Sorry for the delay in an update!
The development is being done by Code Monkey over at http://vbmodder.com/ He is undertaking this so it can be released in a public version, there is no set date, it is really up to him, since he is the one that is using his own personal time to do this Sorry that is not very good news, but that is just the way it is Regards, Mike Sportsrant.com |
