MP3 Footer / MP3 Player
Alright I have made a Flash Driven MP3 Player for your forums.
First Off Open vba_mp3_player.fla from your .zip file Once open, Click once on the "White Circle" to select it, Then press F9 to open the Actions Panel. (WHITE CIRCLE IS LOCATED TO THE LEFT OF THE STAGE) Now, Locate this code: Code:
/////////////////////////////////////Song List array Second under "Song List Description" you need to change the Title of the Song. The song titles are in the order of the .mp3 listed. Once you have edited your song for your users to listen to then go to File > Export > Export Movie. In the file name put "mp3player" hit Save. Then check "Protect From Import" and hit OK. Now some template changes. Go to Admin Control Panel > Styles and Templates > Style Manager > << YOUR THEME >> > footer At the very end of that code add: Code:
<center> Upload > mp3player.swf to main root. Upload > music files your mp3player needs to read in the SAME directory as your mp3player.swf Programs needed: Macromedia Flash Professional 8 If you need any support please post it: ADDED: vba_mp3_auto_off_1.0.0.zip Q: What is it? A: It will not automatically load the music your user must hit "play" before it downloads the music. Thus saving bandwidth. |
Very interesting, I go to test in my forum. It would have as you to postar some images to be able to see as will be?
|
please put instructions in a text file and add it to the zip
|
any screenshots?
|
Please redownload the .fla file because I have updated it to version 1.0.0 due to a error in the system. Plus I had added screen shots.
|
i did everything.. and the player plays fine when i point to it through my browser.. but wheni put it in my footer.. there is no sound.. the player shows, but no sound.. pushed play... no sound.. stopped, then pushed play.. no sound...

And your music in the same directory. Once that you can either add it under your header or footer. And it should find the music and play. If not I'll look more into it. |
that worked perfectly... i was almost ready to give up... but.... success!!!! thanks for the great hack!!
I hate to sound unappreciative, but, is there a way to make this player global? so, as my members move from page to page, the tracks continue to play? if this is not possible... its all good!! |
If there was a way to make it so you can continue playing while going to other pages I'd use this in a heart beat

See that's the thing. I know of an option that would be. You click a button and it will launch the "Music Player POP Up" And that would be another page. But I'll see about programming it to stop when a page is reloaded or changed and continue after reload or change.
|
Will the music automatically start, or will the the person browsing the forum be able to turn it on and off?
Also, is it possible so there is a different song for different sections? (I have a music forum, thus meaning I could set say, Iron Maiden for "Old school rock" and Green Day for "Pop Rock".) |

I use it already, thank you btw , but it will be better that way :) |

Also is it possible to change the silver BG color of the player to white to match my board's color? You can check the attachment to understand.
