Hey. This is more of a skin review than a forum review (and a sneaky chance to advertise my site). But please let me know what you think of our skins. We provide premium vBulletin skins/styles. Unlike most skins, almost every templatebit has been through and customised, meaning a completely thorough style and a lot of hard work.

I think they both look good...........they both have suttle difference's. Looking at the 2, i would have never guessed that one was based off of the other.....

I won't argue with you that they both look good and have subtle differences, however his too closely resembles mine (that was created well over a year ago) to be a coincedense.

John, I noticed a few things about their styles almost immediately also until I realized something: A certain designer who did a few of the styles that we are familiar with is on the staff at Exaltic. Some similarity is bound to occur.

ahhh, I see that too Kevin...that would explain it although it is still kind of lame. He could of at least changed text and alt1 and 2 colors :confused:

those are awesome... love the detail.. my fear of them is how they might look on vbadvanved, photopost pro or other add ons... makes me wish i didnt need that stuff.

yep was gonna say lads the skin will be similar due to vica being the main designer for them.

nice designs but as i said to dm (mite be the one that posted this dont know his vb.org name)

that the skins being so heavy on template edits that it mite prove problematic for customers installing hacks/plugins etc

Because they were by the same designer... Dwight/Vica. The Alt colours are different, they just look similar. It's not uncommon for designers to create works that are similar to their previous work.

As for the customisation worries, I plan to write detailed instructions (or perhaps even tools that automate it) for the popular add-ons for all our skins. Hopefully then people shouldn't have any problems.

Great work is all I can say !

Similar enough to not be noticable to the naked eye without a color picker. The container graphics are very similar as well as the forum markers.
No, it's not, but I would suggest talking to your designer about his obligation to not walk the thin line of rights violations when he sells unique rights to a design then reproduces it in such a similar fashion...especially if you are going to be mass marketing them.

Just a side note...I'm not trying to bash you or Dwight. His work is awesome and I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors...but I do vigorously protect my brand ;)

I understand you concerns, but I believe no copyright has been violated and I've not even noticed the similarities until you pointed them out (and I've always admired Soness). None-the-less, this is the only 'similar' design to any of his mass marketed previous works and I apologise and assure you this is a rare case. I agree it's a little too close for comfort, but I also think they're different enough for us to continue retail of this skin.

I understand you protecting your brand, I think most people would do the same :)
