Quick Ban & Unban in Postbit & Postbit_legacy!
 

Hello,

This is my second simple hack :). This is easy to use & easy to install.

This will add a QuickBan image to postbit & postbit_legacy.

Features:-
* Show Quick Ban & Unban button for separate usergroups.
* Allow separate usergroups to see the Quick Ban & Unban button and that can ban users.
* Show in postbit & postbit_legacy (no template edits required)
* Enable / Disable whole hack.
* Add a Quick Ban & Unban button of your choice :) OR use the buttons i have attached. >>> QuickBan (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1165489323) and QuickUnBan (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1165489323).

TESTED on Vbulletin 3.6.4 and working fine :). (thanks to snakes1100 for testing it on VB3.6.4)

This hack adds a button to postbit. And "https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showt...hreadid=133257" adds text to the postbit. :)

How do I allow my mods to use this hack to ban spammers?

Good question :).

As i am busy with exams now a days, I will work on that when i have time. That feature will be added in QuickBan 3.0 :). (Click install to get email for new updates).

lol :D:D:D! you are lucky ;). I have just finished that thing. Now you can allow Moderators,SuperModerators etc to seee the QuickBan button.

New XML uploaded + tested ;). Please download & reupload + overwrite it.

(2.01 is launched now) + (Screenshot is updated) :p

Upcoming Features are:-

1. You can allow users to ban other users by entering his UserID. This is beacuse if you want to allow only one MODERATOR instead of allowing all moderators.

2. The QuickBan button will be showed in the Member.php.

3. A new button will be added, which will be showed for Banned users and the button will say "Unban this user".

and many more :).

The new feature is > "Now users can UnBan users by clicking the Quick UnBan button. Please check the screenshots for more :).

Please excuse my frustration, but where is the control panel for this located in the Admin CP?

I've uploaded it three times, today included, and can't find it.

Please help.

Some questions here:

If I set my super mods and mods to be able to ban, will they be able to ban an a group superior than themselves, like banning the super-admin?

If not, you should add an options like:

This group: 7

but cannot ban these groups: 5,6

something like that...

No they can't. But if you allow the Quick Ban & Unban showed for Administrators then they can. see the screenshot and you will understand anything :-

vbulletin options --> in options list menu at the very bottom of the list.

its not in the left column menus.

Thanks for the explanantion which I had a hard time to understand because on the left side, you are saying something and on the right side you say something different according to my own understanding.

This comes back to what I said though. It means that only admins can ban. Because if I put super mods (5) in Can see the Ban and Unban buttons and also in Can ban users, they will be able to ban me!

Sorry to say that but I find it a little bit confusing. I would like to be able to include other groups like my super mods and mods to be able to ban registered users but not to ban any member of our staff (we never know).

I find your mod very interesting and I know it's working very well. It's only that maybe it could be worked out a little bit more to accomodate this option. I don't intend to low it down, this is not my intention, far from that...

I'm using 3.6.4 and the first place i looked was vbulletin options. It isn't there, anywhere listed.

I've downloaded the lastest release of the file and still can't find it. weird.

I really need this feature so, any help you can give would be appreciated.

Also, if you still face the problem. Try deleting the Product, and then re-upload.

thanks a bunch, I have no idea why that XML file worked, but after I imported it. A quick ban feature showed up immediately in the options area.

Where do i find postbit_legacy?

Might be a simple hack, as you say but I must say, this is a very handy feature. Thankyou for sharing.

Incompatible for me. Probaly comes in conflict with some other hacks installed.

What it does:

- I see the option in the vBulletin Options of the adminCP. all options are activated in order to see the buttons everywhere and by my group.
- I don't see the buttons in the forum user's profile (and yes the path of the images is correct) for the postbit
-- I don't see the buttons in the forum user's profile (and yes the path of the images is correct) for the postbit_legacy but on top of it, I lose my messages when I wanna go to see them! I see the messages in showthread but when I go on a message itself, it's just not there.

Uninstalled since it's not working for me.

You dont need to find. It adds the button automaticly. No template edits required.

However, postbit_legacy is in "Styles & Templates >> Style Manager >> (yoursking) >> Postbit templates >> postbit_legacy :)

Hi, i installed your hack, but i'm not getting the "unban" button if somebody is banned. :confused:

Since I have changed some icons where can I get a Banned/Unbanned icons from? Some that look nice and small
