vBStatistic Preview Edition

vBStatistic Preview Edition contains modules to show several information about your forum and a multifunctional module that shows new registrations, new postings, new threads and online user over a specific period in a pleasing way. This new version of vBStatistic is the follower of the MOTM vBStatistic version 3.0.0. vBStatistic Preview Edition runs with all vB 3.6.x versions.

The popular check of system status, that shows browser plugins, screen resolutions, color depth and some other information is also included.

Installation is very easy. No files have to be modified. Just follow the installation instructions given in the enclosed file install.html and upload vbstatistic_preview.php and the directory vbstatistic_preview with all contents to root of your forum.

vBStatistic Preview version offers an appealing design and is an interesting feature for all forum operators, who want to keep important data of the forum in mind.

Note:
vBStatistic Preview Edition is the offical preview of vBStatistic Professional Edition.

vB Statistic Professional Edition contains more than 39 statistic modules in nine different categories. Own usergroup rights, several settings, integrated layer- and tooltip-system and an update/news are also included.

vBStatitstic Professional version loggs data of your visitors like countries, browser languages, referer, spider, search bots and search engines, keywords and so on.

Looks very nice actually - any chance of adding this to a 3.5.6 board?
ALSO any screen caps?
Nice share - Thanx

Jacquii.

Edit: oops didn't realize... 1st post = YAY!

yui333 12-02-2006 12:33 PM

very nice, thanks!

Hellraider 12-02-2006 12:48 PM

The Preview Edition runs only on vB 3.6.x.

But the Professional Edition runs with vB 3.5.2 and newer.

Please try the following to install vBStatistiv Preview Edition in vB 3.5.2 or newer (this has not been teste --> first create backups!):

Try to delete the following parts out of file
product-vBStatistic Preview_english.xml:

Code:

executionorder="0"
In version 3.6 (and 3.62) there were changes in some structures in the product xml file. Amongst other changes you can now define an order of execution for plugins. Ordering is set via table entry executionorder.

vB table plugin doesn't contain this field in version 3.5 so there may be errors with the non modified version of vB Statistic Preview Edition.

Looks awesome, thanks!

PoetJA-1975 12-02-2006 01:32 PM

hmmm - just looked at the demo version on your site. Looks suspiciously like PsiStats with a few more options and advancements...

Looks nice though. Don't think I'll be shelling out any EUROS for the professional version..... Yet anyway.

Discuss the differences and advantages between this hack and PsiStats please.

Thanx,

Jacquii.

redlabour 12-02-2006 01:38 PM

Arrrgghhhh ..... who the Hell is voting this Hack so bad ?? Just a few Hours online and online 3 Stars standing ? Before i voted there was only one.

This Statistic was and is the best and greatest Statistic for vB ever. Good to see that there is a lite Version now.

I have buyed the Pro-Version some minutes ago. :)

WOW! Hellraiser - that's an AWESOME list of features! Gosh - if I have the extra monies to spend for this one... Also ((just for you to know)) I haven't even clicked install yet - let alone vote...

Another question: By "modules" do you mean this modification can be customized like a CMS of some sort?

Anyway - this looks TOTALLY AWESOME - any chance of a ghetto discount? :P

Thanx for responding to my questions!

Jacquii.

Hellraider 12-02-2006 02:46 PM

There are no liberies of ip-to-country included in vBStatistic.

BTW: This is the license to the whois-function within vBStatistic.

But I will tell the author of vBStatistic to check this once again, thanks for your invention.

Look at the ACP screenshots here to see, what you can "customize" within vBStatistic Professional Edition.

Ghetto discount? No, but there is also a BASIC Edition available ;)

smoknz28 12-02-2006 03:44 PM

Installed with ease.... ;)

Thanks for sharing this with us. I could never get psiStats to work after several attempts.

The installation and what is featured in your version of vBStatic works well for what I was looking for.

Thanks again for sharing.

Hellraider 12-02-2006 04:22 PM

Just talked to PcFreak:

Quote:

All functions of vBStatistic are in compliance with the the IP-to-country-database licenses.

vBStatistic doesn't connect to any external database to retrieve the information that should be displayed, neither to the ip-to-country database nor to the RIPE database or any other database. vBStatistic has only stored the available IP ranges and the corresponding top level domains that are freely available also in a whole bunch of other commercial products. The rountines to display this details are written by PcFreak himself.
Back to topic:

This is not the place for suggestions, hints and wishes to vBStatistic Basic Edition or Professional Edition, this thread only belongs to vBStatisitc Preview Edition. For suggestions, hints and wishes to vBStatistic Basic Edition or Professional Edition please visit www.vbstatistic.com.

bang 12-02-2006 06:29 PM

bang 12-02-2006 06:31 PM

I think I'll go for the professional edition when it has better english translation. the current one looks like it was done using one of those shitty online translators

The professional edition is not free, and the free one does not seem to have a country statistics module.

Logging: 1 to 4 querries (after first logging only via cookie)

Display of statistic pages: 1 querry

Data is stored in datastore ([S]this datastore is updated in a period of time that can be set in ACP[/S])

EDIT: Settings in ACP are only available in Basic and Professional Edition of vBStatistic. Thanx to hIBEES for his valid objection.

No online or software translator has been used. All phrases were translated manually.

You're welcome to give improvements on the english translation.

BTW: You are the first one who complains about the english translation. Can you give examples of "wrong" translated phrases?

Hellraider 12-11-2006 09:41 AM

No examples on "wrong" translated phrases after more than 1 week of complaining?

*wonderingaboutbang*

Bison 12-20-2006 03:54 AM

No sense in installing a hack that guest can see. You could at least provide permissions with this version.

Bounce 12-21-2006 12:39 AM

Where do you change the start date of your forums ??

Weve been online 4 years and its showing as 07-08-06 lol

Where does it pull this info from ?

Installed with ease thou

Edit: also your read me is wrong.. link is vbstatistic_preview.php and not vbstatistic.php ;)

TeddyKGB 12-21-2006 03:53 AM

Yeah mine shows I've been up for 2 days but we are almost a year old. Odd.

I'd be interested in knowing where it pulls that info from.

where in admin cp ?

Hellraider 12-22-2006 04:35 PM

You can change the start date of forum as follows:

Go the the following URL:

http://www.unixtime.de/index.php?

Enter desired start date and time and click on button "Realzeit nach Unixzeit". Copy code after "Unix Zeitstempel in sec.:".

Open file vbstatistic_overview_preview.php in folder vbstatistic_preview. SEARCH for code:

Code:

$installdate        = strtotime($installdate_res);                                                        // Installdate convert to unixtime
REPLACE this code with the following code (UNIXTIME has to be replaced with the copied code from above):

Code:

$installdate    = 'UNIXTIME';                            // Installdate convert to unixtime

After replacing the code it has to look something like (e.g. for 01.01.2000 at 12:00:00 o'clock):

Code:

$installdate    = '946724400';                            // Installdate convert to unixtime

Save the changed file and upload the file on your webspace. After the next dataupdate of vBStatistic the new start date of the forum will be taken over.

Shame on me

Sorry, this information belongs only for the Basic and Professional Edition of vBStatistic. The Preview Edition has no ACP settings. I have edited my posting above. Thanks for your exception.

Starttime of the forum is acquired of creation from table "upgradelog".
It is readout when table has been created and modified.

Date of creation is the starttime.
Date of modification is the updatetime.

I'm new to vB (just installed it a week ago) and this is my first add-on...

what directory do all the files in 'upload' go to? I put it in my includes directory.

I selected the xml file and clicked import, and it seemed to import properly - but how do I view the stats?

(there was no instructions on where to upload the files to so I'm hoping I choose the correct directory)

extreme-mobile 12-26-2006 09:03 PM

apparently im banned from the vbstatistic forum, dont know why cos ive never registerd there before lol

Upload vbstatistic_preview.php and folder vbstatistic_preview in your root of your forum: File vbstatistic_preview.php has to be in folder containng files ajax.php, announcement.php, attachment.php amongst others. Folder vbstatistic_preview has to be placed in the same directory.

In the statistic box of vB (at bottom of page) you will find a link to vBStatistic.

Where exactly do you get this 'banned" message? Seems to be a problem with our usergroup rights.

Problem with usergroup rights has hopefully  been fixed (PcFreak has just run an update).
