bashy 11-28-2006 06:26 PM

I take it as its how its placed, if another post is made after the post that you want to leave the message for then it could look like the message is for the latest post, is this correct?

Does this make any sense lol?

Ntfu2 11-28-2006 06:27 PM

Awesome, right now i'm using replacement variables, but i was wondering if there is a way to have more then one message set?

Thanks

DannyMilner 11-28-2006 06:34 PM

Great mod idea ;)

Not sure what you mean really. The [username] will always point at the user who posted the thread.

Maybe in future versions there will be a dropdown box where you can choose between different messages. Depends on the demand.

Lionel 11-28-2006 06:34 PM

you might want to look into that also. Has more options and works (for me) on 3.60

projectego 11-28-2006 07:19 PM

[high]* projectego clicks install ;)[/high]

Allan 11-28-2006 07:27 PM

h?h?, great idea ;)

A question, it's possible to add other message button (for other answer for example) ?

Kirk Y 11-28-2006 10:52 PM

I wonder if this is how vB.org does it...

Great hack either way!

MrNase 11-29-2006 08:51 AM

You should add a field with to enter a userid to it so that we can specify what username/account is used to write that custom message. :)

ninjamaster 11-30-2006 06:35 AM

thanks for this :)

MimeSong Erk 11-30-2006 11:46 AM

Nice. Simple and to the point. Some features I would love:
  • Specify more than one button, and perhaps have it turn into a pull down menu if there is more than 3-4
  • specify an image URL to replace the button, something that can use skin-specific variables
  • Option to add text to the topic title as well (EG. for my forum adding the text [resolved] to the beginning of topics)
That is all I can think of for now. Nice job: simple and to the point.

wengi 11-30-2006 02:55 PM

Mupetz 12-17-2006 01:58 PM

Yes a list of canned responses in a database would be nice.
- categories / departments ( sets of responses )

EX:

* Sales (cat1)
1) response
2) response
3) response

* Support (cat2)
1) response
2) response
3) response

There are many things you could do.

Spank 02-03-2007 01:39 AM

Is the custome message button only visible to moderators? If so it would be good if it could close thread for you, so you could just click the button it posts the message and then closes the thread.

You can choose to make it only visible to moderators in the Admin CP, you can also choose if the thread should be closed. Just look at the screenshot.

Spank 02-03-2007 11:54 AM

^ Oh right cool, sorry I missed that =D. Willl install now, it's just what I was looking for.

professorb 02-04-2007 06:25 PM

Is there some reason why I can't get the bb code for color to work with this? We like to put our mod warnings in red, but it breaks the message.

Oh I see what you mean.

Just use this

[color=red]text here[/color]

instead of

[color="red"]text here[/color]

hopefully that will work.

professorb 02-04-2007 11:20 PM

That does work, weird.... thank you!! :) Great mod!

Nathan2006 02-06-2007 04:24 AM

jluerken 03-04-2007 08:58 PM

Hey Sebbe, this is a great product.
It reminds me of the quickclip product which I would like to see very much.
Is it possible for you to update your product so that a few texts can be inserted and not just one?

I've thought about it but not sure I'm up for it at this time, we'll see.

PinkDaisy 04-17-2007 01:24 AM

Installed and LOVE it!

bigcurt 06-20-2007 07:13 PM

I am a big fan of this mod, but I would really like to see the option to be able to add more then one button.

bigcurt 10-17-2007 03:27 AM

What he said ^^.

Awjvail 04-22-2008 07:15 PM

It'd be nice if you could enter more than one.. and like.. select them from a drop down or something.

gabrielt 04-23-2008 12:29 AM

Hi,

I was really needing this hack, but we needed to be able to configure more than one custom message. As from what I read on this thread, other users would like to see this feature also.

Thanks,
Gabriel.

perfphysio 10-15-2008 06:35 PM

in my newer 3.7.3 when i click on the button i get the following error message

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

any thoughts

high76 10-28-2008 10:26 PM

add
Code:

<input type="hidden" name="securitytoken" value="$bbuserinfo[securitytoken]" />
somewhere at line ~20

works fine with 3.7.3 then

puertoblack2003 11-29-2008 04:32 PM

not working in 3.7.4. the message somehow breaks using bbcodes.
