forgive me for being a skin tard but how do you add the background image ?

All you need to do is upload the folder to your images file in ftp and then go to the admincp>Styles & Templates>Download / Upload Styles/and then navigate to the folder where the xml file is on your hard drive.

Then hit import. That should give you the style.

And as I mentioned, there is a blank header in the misc folder if you don't know how to create a transparent one. For the header to fit in between the bells, make it 450x148 to fit exactly to what I had. Liz

sorry, their is an error with this when using 3.6.4 the background image is not displayed.

to fix this i had to do the following.

go into admin cp, style manager. find the new style and edit all style options.

locate and edit
Body (Customized in this Style)

replace your text with the following.

transparent url(images/wintersnow/misc/wintersnow.jpg) repeat-x fixed

Derek, when I try that, mine does not show. Using the setup I put in to begin with allows it to show (at least on mine). url(images/wintersnow/misc/wintersnow.jpg); background-no repeat; background-attachment Liz

I didn't have any trouble whatsoever installing this on my 3.6.4 board, and I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE it! Thanks so much for sharing it!

That is strange, when mine did not show, i looked to fix the issue, and found the way i added to be the only way to get my images to show. :confused:

When i read the Post from Paldo, i assumed they have the same problem and thought it to be an error.

Will sort out a new test board later and upload this see what happens, and let you know.

Mine's complaining about FORUMHOME being version 3.5.1

Says that my Current Default is 3.6.0 beta 1 by kier

Gives me options to view/compare.

I'm on 3.6.4 (although my profile hasn't been updated yet.. well do shortly)

Any suggestions?

To have it snow on your forum, go to this link <- Snow Script Link ->

Grap the code (JavaScript) and add it to Style Manager --> wintersnow --> Common Templates --> Header.

The script (or web page where it's held) doesn't belong to me, nor am I associated with it in any way. I just thought it'd add a nice final touch to this great Style.

The page (linked above) blarts on about leaving in the copyright notice, but to tell you the truth I've seen quite a few of these scripts that appear to be from the same source but with one or two things changed (like variable names, or using inline coding instead of lengthy scripts, etc), ie. they all seem to be ripped off from each other.

this doesnt work at all on vb 3.6.8 ive just installed it and you dont get anything on the theme you only get the original vbulletin default theme so when will this be compatible with vb3.6.8?

Love it! BTW, it is missing some images that are standard with most styles. I'm not trying to advertise my Mod but look at the link in my sigline for some of the missing ones. Also, is it possible to get a multiquote button from you?

Absolutely waiting for this the update. i have 3.6.7 and i suppose when it is updated to 3.6.8 i will still be able to use it.

Now i got to learn how to make this work. ie to look like the screenshots on the first page. Might need a little bit of help since i know little about coding.

Looking at the Header Area and Footer locations. This is how my forum looks now in this skin. How do i fix this and make the images show. vB 3.6.7

Mine doesn't handle snow...I didn't do a javascript for that. (I don't know HOW to code js, LOL, wish I did cause I would make the one I am using fatter flakes) *I* am using this mod for mine: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=132475

Check the image path in the style manager under All Style Options, down under: Image Paths
images/buttons is how it should read since it uses the original set, but if it reads images/wintersnow/buttons it will still pull the original set if you copy the original set to the wintersnow folder.

I had to cut a lot of excess out to get the zip file down to size. Since the only two folders I actually changed were the Misc and Statusicon folders, those were the only two folders along with the xml, I zipped up.

Sorry for being such a dork, but the code for the 3 part header...where does that go? I assumed in the header code box..but I'm probably wrong.

Go to Style Manager>All Style Options>Common Templates>header (it's the top box).

IF you add the snow, it goes below that code.

Can I ask if this style is going to be updated for 3.7

As this is the msot popular style we have had at xmas and so wish too have it again this year

Neilll, I don't have 3.7 to update it with. I have 3.8 beta 4.

The part that asks you to install the xml, there is a place to tell it to ignore the style version. Click that and you should have no trouble using it.

If I update it now, it would be usable only for 3.8 beta 4 and above.

i am going to try this mod again. Last time i couldnt install it. so i went for another skin but this has always been the best free christmas skin i have seen. So i am going to download and try this all over again. I hope the lady helps me out if i get stuck
