VBay! Transform your vbulletin into an auctionhouse!

VBay.

This will add an auction section to your bulletin!

If you want to donate to me click the link over there ---------------------->

I am open to suggestions, bugs, comments, insults, and anything else you might say to me at the time :P

To do list:
*use forums/categories/subforums for your auctionhouse.
high bidder userid -> username
*" in description cuts the description at that point
add buyer name
fix pm formatting
add more currencies
intergrate with trader ratings
add paypal api
bidder usergroups
*hot auctions on main < - Available with addon (wont be packaged in vbay)
admin editing auctions
*set up for use with forum commenting.
*fix amount of days an auction can be posted (more than 2 char)
ability to prune old auctions
make sure buy it now is using buy it now price, not bid.
allow admin ability to specify bid/buyitnow/both overrides.

* = Completed.

Features:
Full BBCode support.
Specification of everything, Money Auction length ECT.
Image uploader for auctions.
Closed auction section.
3 auction types, bid, buy it now, or both.

To install
Upload files, and import product as usual
Make a new usergroup and call it the sellers usergroup, do what you want with this group (allow people to request addition maybe?)
Go to vbulletin options and into vbay, set the usergroup id of the sellers group you just made.

To upgrade
re upload all files
import new product
REVERT YOUR TEMPLATES

I looked at the xml and couldn;t see any mismatched tags :( FF & IE both claim that the </uninstallcode> should be </installcode> but this looks OK to me....

or somthing of that sort.

Wow this is great many people asking for an auction system like this.. Will this work on vb 3.5.x or will you make another version for 3.5

A suggestion: although the auctions have a fixed end time, perhaps make it more like a traditional auction - item sells when the bidding stops. So only close the auction if no bids have been recorded in the last say 10 minutes. so the end time will be either the original end time, or 10 minutes after the last bid which ever is later. Sniping on a community forum isn't very community minded ..

I also suggested in another thread a one bid auction. It is kinda like a "Buy It Now", except the buy it now price goes down by a certain value every time period until a reserve or base price is reached. First bidder wins - rather than bidding up a product, the potential buyer has to really judge what they are willing to pay and then put their money down before someone else does. It also makes it impossible for a dodgy seller to get one of his mates to bid on an item to increase the price. This would be useful for when a seller knows what he is willing to accept, but is unsure of the actual value of what he is selling. This suggestion however is low, low down on my list of what I'd want - you're on the money so far.

wow great installed on my forum (3.6.4) without erros (great)
now procedure missing :
vBulletin Options>vBay>Vbay Seller Usergroup you can only add 1 usergroup

This is an AWESOME Idea!!

I would like to request that there is two options.

One for actual dollar amounts, and one for fictional funds.

For example there are many online games that have unique or hard to find items that are sometimes auctioned on forums for ingame items. Having something like this to be able to use on the forums is an amazing possibility! :)

I have an admincp and a fixed day count at home.... since noone has found any bugs so far i guess it will be able to be used on whatever board you want.
